it is no secret that American agencies helped Kosovo Liberation Army, shortly after removing it from list of terrorist organizations. Just to compromise Serbs and Milosevic... similarly how the Iran was aided in fight with Russia. And in both cases time has shown that it was bad mistake. Now media or politicians won't talk about this, because both democrats and republicans were for Kosovo war. What I'm trying to say is that Kosovo war was premeditated, regardless of facts that Islamic militants would be involved and on US side.

We should leave the Middle East alone, and by alone, I mean totally alone. Let them sleep in the desert without our oil money.

I mean, was the group actively attempting to purchase M16 and AK-47 rifles before that witness got involved? Or were they a collection of clueless retards that needed a little motivation from the witness to get them to purchase weapons?

At this point, I have SO little faith in this Administration and its methods that I don't take any news story at face value.

The U.S. government spent two years on a sting operation trapping an Indian man named Hemant Lakhani, whom they suspected of being an illegal arms dealer. It's one of the few cases that has gone to trial in the War on Terror, and one the Justice Department has pointed to as one of their big successes. In the end, they got Lakhani, red-handed, delivering a missile to a terrorist in New Jersey. The only problem was, nothing in the sting was what it appeared to be. Including the missile. - from This American Life on NPR

Its not just this administration. The FBI had Randy Weaver saw off a shotgun then wanted to arrest him for it even though they had actually marked the spot where they wanted the barrel cut off.

No government can be fully trusted.

It was chosen because one cell member's family owned a pizza parlor near the base and that member was able to enter the base to deliver pizza.

The group believed this access would enable its attack to succeed.

Early today about six members of the group were arrested after what appeared to be a sting operation in which an informant was willing to procure Russian-style assault rifles described by authorities as AK-47s and U.S. M-16 automatic rifles for the men.

Jihadist propaganda material, including "generalized messages" from Osama bin Laden and other leaders, was seized, authorities said. It had been downloaded from the Internet.

==============================================

What exactly would be "success"?

Until proven otherwise I believe this to be complete fabrication on the GOP's part.

Look for more of this Terrer Terrer Terrer to escalate as next November approaches.

Selling the sheeple up the river on Terrer Terrer Terrer worked for them for Iraq and they believe it will work for them again.

You are ridiculous. I honestly don't know how someone can believe crap like this and still function as a human being.

They wouldn't even made it past the gate. Even if they did they would all be dead before they took down more than one of our guys. What bleeding idiots.

Were they planning to have the little Domino's sign, on top of their car, on or off when they attacked?

One day people of all political persuasions and ethnicities here will realize that these terrorists want all of us dead. Black, White, Yellow, Republican, Democrat, Green Party, they could care less.

That isn't any different than anytime prior to 9/11

but we live in a, "different world" now right??

I tell you what is different about this world post 9/11. Lame-ass politicians are more than happy to let the terrorists win and change our way of life. The Patriot Act is the most glaring result of that.

They can want to kill us all they want...that shouldn't be reason enough to change what it means to be americans. So many of you forget that.

I think they might have been fantasizing about doing it rather than actually doing it.
Who the hell actually plans to attack a military base? Of course they aren't part of Al Qaeda. Their leaders would execute them on the spot for such a stupid plan.

At least they didn't want to go around blowing up buildings with civilians in them. Props to them for that. Just for that they should be sent to Bible study for life.
U.S should create the first Federal Monitored Bible Study that has bars so nobody could leave. 24 hours a day all they will play on the loudspeakers will be Bible talk.

When we have turned them into fanatical Christians we will send them over to Al Qaeda's base to destroy them. Perfect plan.

it could also be the entire truth... you'll never know the difference, will ya?

Bush said attacking them in Iraq would prevent them from coming here to America
oops.
This makes Bush wrong for the ... 1,000,000,021th time?

That's what people thought before 9/11 as well. "They couldn't pull it off..."

In this day and age we've got to take these threats seriously. Whether the plan would have succeeded, or to what extent, is of no merit.

EDIT: Looks like they were going to get in the base posing as Pizza Delivery drivers. Sounds stupid and laughable but I would not be surprised if they waltzed right in. Who suspects the pizza guy? Story here.

Can you provide a verbatim quote (not a paraphrase) of GWB saying that?

Otherwise you're full of hot air, as usual.

You have no idea how often intel gained from detainees abroad has helped stop/prevent attacks on US soil - including intel gained from foreign fighters caught in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We need to continue fighting this war globally... just not with conventional troops.

Or we could mind our own business, quit fabricating evidence and lying to the world, and live tolerant of other cultures. :disgust:

President's Remarks in Greeley, Colorado
Island Grove Regional Park Events Center
Greeley, Colorado
THE PRESIDENT: We are fighting these terrorists with our military in Afghanistan and Iraq and beyond so we do not have to face them in the streets of our own cities. (Applause.)

I would add a "see also" section but for chrissake the republicans & bush have been saying this ad infinitum for years now...you really never heard him say it? google it and you can find it dozens of times from Rove to McClellan to Cheney, etc.

I said a verbatim quote. Looks like you're injecting a bit of paraphrasing.

No one (including GWB) has ever said that fighting them in the desert would PREVENT absolutely any of these terrorists from coming over here. The implication has been that it is BETTER to fight them there than over here, and I agree with that.
