Well, I'm back. From the theater that is.

My take, it was just alright. And this is coming from someone that likes Salvation an T3. The plot is a twisted mess and now there are several tangents to what Skynet will do next. So I guess this leaves the door open for the next two Terminator films Arnold is supposed to be in. They better make them quick because Arnold isn't getting any younger and they do make that fact known in the movie.
They should have made it really authentic and brought in Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese. Sarah Connor could have been blonder. My role? Well... I'm a little pissed. LOL I like how they show scenes from T1 and the camera work was spot on from what was done in T1. I wouldn't see it in 3D, nor Imax. What I found odd was that the HKs (Hunter Killer flying machines) were shown using a red beam when in all the films and the show it was a bright white beam. I don't know why they changed that.
I liked Salvation partly due to the future war stuff which I think they ought to make a Terminator film on. And in Salvation they talked about shortwave being the medium at which Skynet communicated. So seen as how I'm into radio communications that was interesting because that was the first time I heard Skynet using shortwave. I think a future Terminator movie should shed more light on that and the plot should take place in the future with epic battles of Terminators and the resistance trying to capture a key Skynet holding ground or something. They kinda touch on that in this movie, but not long.
All in all I give it a 6/10. Salvation I give an 8/10 and T3 I give a 7/10.
An interesting aspect to the movie is that Skynet is indeed pretty much being created right now. We just scratched the surface of the 21st century and right now it might as well be 1915. Wait till we hit 2030. I can't imagine the technology.
PS. Watch the first part of the ending credits.
