craptastic

Let's take the matrix, add a little bit of the Doom movie and see if someone will watch this pile of steaming shit.

Edit:
The first 2 movies were intentionally shot in very cold light (note everything is blue) and the terminator was chrome metal all to illustrate the contrast between the living and the machine. Whoever is doing the set and direction of the movie has no clue what they're doing.

Entertaining ... maybe (I thought it was garbage). Can't even compare it to the first 2 terminators though.

Well it's me or the guy that directed charlie's angels and the OC. At least I don't have a reputation for directing crap...

agreed agreed agreed :D

But seriously, with the story timeline, is it all that hard to imagine the machines are going to be very different for the new Terminator?
It is supposed to be before the Arnold-era of Terminators, so the machines are decidedly going to be less 'futuristic'. Before we see the movie, and thus know to what extent the machines have come to technologically, it's hard to determine what they really should look like. We just know it was before they sent any back in time.

Personally, I'm very excited for this movie, which is bad because I don't like going into movies with a lot of hype, even though I'm far from a critic and enjoy just about every movie I watch, but then again, I go into each movie I watch knowing a decent amount about it, so I have already judged whether it's even worth my time.

But I also love Christian Bale, and don't expect to be let down. :p

To be fair, director's should not always be blamed for a movie's quality. Look to the director, also based on the style of movie to begin with, for his ability to establish the visual style, the quality of the acting to some extent (George Lucas is famous for taking actors with ability and having them churn out less-than-quality acting for his characters), and the ability to successfully capture the moment with camera framing and how scenes play out.
If the director is in control of the story too, then you can have a field day with critiquing. :p

However, Nolan wrote the screen play for Terminator: Salvation. That alone, plus adding his buddy Bale, completely has me sold on the potential. And with Nolan, his role in the writing probably also has him giving tips to the director in regards to how best to capture the scene.

I'm pretty sure it was Christpher Nolan's brother who did T4, not C. Nolan himself. Granted, they both worked on TDK, but it's not what you seem to be implying.

oops, you are right.
Okay, well scratch the director tips, but well the rest still does hold true though. John Nolan worked with his brother on The Dark Knight, and also helped pen The Prestige, and wrote the underlying narrative for Memento. Both movies I really enjoyed, so I'm still sold for this movie. :p

I sorta like the concept art, however, I am very disturbed seeing a noob director directing this movie.
I so wish the great James Cameron was instead directing this film ...
