Worse than Transformers? I'd have to see Battlefield Earth to see where Transformers stands with respect to "worst movie ever." But god I think I felt my IQ halve itself from seeing Transformers. Sure the effects are nifty, but the characters are absolutely shallow stereotypes.

Well, I'll say this much about Transformers: It was better than Snakes on a Plane, in the same sense that death by swimming in rusty nails is better than death by bullet ant stings.

T4 is not going to suck in the way that Transformer sucked in that Shia LeDouche is not going to be in it.

Isn't the new film supposed to be set before the Arnie era terminators? I think they're just trying to get across the machines in the film are less technologically advanced that the previous films.. Besides its artwork..

I hate that guy. I don't even know why - he's just the most annoying young actor I've ever seen on the screen. His level of annoying-ness is really up there with Gilbert Godfrey for me.

Without Arnie it will suck, I think they should go a totally different route and like hummm... I dunno cast Will Ferrell as the Terminator and somehow make it into one of his predictable corny ass comedies.

Transformers was excellent if not only just for Megan Fox and the hot Aussie chick.

This will be awesome because  Christian Bale.

exactly.
and Transformers didn't pretend to be anything other than a movie about giant transforming alien machines. complaining about human characters in a movie called Transformers seems... odd. :p

I expected nothing other than lots of action, crazy sweet visuals, thunderous bass, and a hot ass lil lady...

I will see Transformers 2 immediately upon theater release. :p I've seen Transformers so many times, and it never gets old. Such a sweet movie to just kick back and enjoy the action, and it has its moments of story, though yeah, I don't care so much about the humans as I did about the Transformers, both autobots and decepticons. Although I did root for Shia's character, mostly so I could see more Megan Fox. :D

im glad that i can watch movies for what they are supposed to be - entertainment - and not have to nitpick everything about a movie, expecting a braveheart or saving private ryan type of movie each time i sit in a theatre. not having this "im picky as shit" problem that 95% of ATOT seems to have feels like a gift.

transformers was amazing for what it was supposed to be, and i know T4 will be as well, especially with Christian Bale as john connor.

Um...I can honestly say that out of all my friends, almost every one of us agrees that it was one of the 5 worst movies in history. Several of them are even in the film industry and feel bad criticizing any film because they know the work that goes into making them.

Your friends must suck. It was a nice cheesy action movie.

That Aussie chick was hot looking. But everytime she talked it was like getting nose hairs plucked. Holy crap, that has to be one of the most pretentious accents I have heard.

These movies were marketed as nothing more than popcorn flicks, yet you watched both of them? I'm assuming you watched the full movie in both cases otherwise you wouldn't be able to comment on them being worst movie ever.

The only viable excuse that you could have for seeing these movies is that you are an idiot who expected oscar worthy performances.

I predict that you will also see Transformers 2 when it comes out. I also predict you will again whine about it being such a horrible movie with no worthwhile character building.

I've heard Australian accents called many things, but pretentious has to be a first.

no shit. Seriously, out of all my friends, I haven't met a single person that at least didn't enjoy the entertainment. I'm glad I can say I am far from a movie critic unless its the type of movie that warrants actual critiquing, like the serious dramas or war movies or something along that line.
If I had a group of friends that all could not stand a movie like Transformers, I'd be bored to tears and probably reject the notion of ever watching a movie with them. That, or maybe they are the type of people that stick to artsy, critically-raved movies and don't venture. To say Transformers was one of the worst movies of all time, is definitely saying they have not ventured far into movie viewing. I've seen many terrible movies that make Transformers appear to be award-worthy. :p
And that's saying a lot, because it takes a lot for me to absolutely hate sitting through a movie. Usually I go into a movie with a certain mindset, fully adjusted to that style of movie, and any 'critiquing' is based on how I feel a movie of that nature should be. In that, I had very little to be truly bothered by in Transformers.
In all honesty, I have enjoyed almost every Michael Bay movie, just because I treat them as mostly basic action movies, which I feel he does well. Now, I absolutely loathed Pearl Harbor if that helps ease any rabid Bay-haters out there. ;)

some people just naturally pick up a thicker accent than others in their same region.

What's wrong with just watching them to be, oh I dunno, entertained?
Snakes on a Plane was epic for what it was. A big joke in of itself. Come on, look at the title, and the one movie poster (the one that also happens to be on my wall :p) states: "Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the fright." Snakes on a Plane - enjoy the fright - samuel l jackson. and a few b-list actors mostly known for trashy comedy.
Yes, it was a popcorn summer movie, and nothing wrong with that imho. A movie that basically makes fun of itself as it goes along gets a  in my book. :D

The Matrix was kickass and cool. Transformers was kickass and hilarious. Where else are you going to see an AC-130 Gunship beat the living shit out of a giant robot? :D Just don't take it so seriously.

If you're offended by product placement, you are easily offended. Welcome to Capitalist society. Unless you have a plan to change it and are willing to execute it, stop whining.

I would be skeptical if it wasn't for Christian Bale. When was the last time that guy stared in a bad movie.... never?

If anyone offers to change it, move the fuck out dammit. It's bad enough we've gone down the socialist road on a few occasions already. Despise that shit.
oops, not P&N. I'll keep it at that. :p

And the product placement didn't really bother me all that much. And hey, they did try and get VW to allow Bumblebee to be a classic bug. Guess what happened? VW was all anti-violence (hmm, I guess they gotta be considering they were brought to prominence by that well-known man named Hitler), and so what did they decide to do: destroy that classic VW in the very beginning. :p
That, and seeing that beautiful tank and the rest of the military vehicles, I cannot complain whatsoever.
And the scene with the A-10s and AC-130 with the music that was playing. I'm pretty sure I've rocked the O-face a few times during that. It's pure awesome to 11. :D

Heh, while it wasn't a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, I apparently enjoyed it enough to buy it on Blu-ray awhile back. Still haven't watched it, should one of these days.
