Like I offered earlier, the beauty of it all is that educators won't be able to figure out what they can say, so they'll be stuck saying nothing, which is the whole point.

When it comes down to it this bill is an extension of trying to enforce abstinence only education. A whole 'sex is bad' mantra...

No... I can't support this crap. Burn the bill.

I think you mean "Sex outside of marriage is bad". Please be accurate in your demonizations of Republicans.

I read the article but I am struggling to find the real purpose behind this proposed law.

It's like something from The Onion.

What I demonize is the idiotic idea that teens are going to be celibate.

It's not just the idea that's the problem, although I definitely agree with you. The real issue is that this belief results in a lack of proper sex education for teens who are going to figure things out on their own, which is going to produce much worse results.

Yeah, I'm sure some people would be very happy if people didn't have sex until they were 25. But since that's not going to happen, ever, it's probably smart to make sure when teenagers DO have sex, they're doing it safely.

Personally, I think it is in response to the one school district teaching masteurbation in kindergarden.

It is very difficult to know what is proper to teach children. Even with my own daughter I struggle to figure out what the appropriate things are to teach her at any given time. I can tell you this though, she mentioned having feelings of arousal at 5 years old. She referred to it in a childish way and didn't mean anything sexual by it (at least not in the adult way), but people are delusional if they think that kids don't have these feelings from very early on. I agree that that seems too early to have the talk about masturbation, but at the same time I have to ask objectively what harm does it cause a child to learn about masturbation? Can you quantify the damage or is it just yuck factor?

I would also like to point out that I 100% believe it should be up to the parent if their child participates or not in these type of discussions.

that is a fucking stupid law and its not going to do anything other then get kids in trouble for doing something that comes naturally.

can't touch boobs, thiegh's or such? lol yeah kids will respect this law...

You obviously have no idea what this law is about at all. It is apparent you only read the thread title and nothing else.

Mostly for the reason you put below, due to their age.

Agreed that oral and anal do not cause preganancies. However, you do not consider them to be sexual intercourse? What do you consider them to be if not sexual intercourse?

They are sexual acts to be sure. My definitions are somewhat antiquated but basically:

As far as heterosexual sex; sexual intercourse is male penis - female vagina, with copious amounts of back and forth motions at various speeds and depths.

Oral sex is cunnilingus - mouth and tongue stimulation of female genitalia; fellatio - mouth and tongue stimulation of male genitalia

Anal sex - Finger or penile insertion into female anus; finger or dildo insertion into male anus

Not being versed or experienced in homosexual activity I'm not sure of those definitions.
