I'm Having a case of hi systems temps.
The case i'm useing has pererated side panels and also perferated on the top.
Both CoreCenter and Motherboard Monitor state the same temps :
Cpu 33 c / system 42 c.
This is at idle with a room temp of 70 degrees or so. Under load it's run
up to 50 and 45 at times. I have a 3 gig prescot cpu with an Msi 865pe
neo 2-p board, 2 optical drives, a Radeon 9800 pro card, an 80gig sata
hd and an enermax 350 watt wisperquit ps. There are 2 front intake fans
an 2 outlet fans, one on top and one at the rear. The inside is not wired
to perfection but does not block enough airflow to make any major difference.
I tried running it with the side panel off and it had no effect. I also set a 16"
fan to bow directly at the inside of the case and oddly enough the cpu cooled
down 4 to6 degrees but the system temp barely went down at all.
The heatsink and cpu are retail box.
Any ideas as to why it's running so warm. Someone suggested it may be the
case design. He likened it to a fan blowing air inside a box made of chicken wire.
