You should time capsule that comment for yourself and read again in 3 or 4 years, maybe less, maybe more.

Your reaction might be something like, "Nooooo! for the love of god and everything holy LET me go BACK!!!"

Maybe not though. Mine is.

one highlight was when i finished a 100 mile bike race through the mountains.

it was hot & a lot of people quit between miles 40 & 60, but my
Teutonic will wouldn't let me drop out.

i was exhilarated the last few hundred yards, then
my brain was fried for 3 days afterwards.

For pure exhileration "alive" I'll have to go with the times I've had my 944 on the track and only barely saved a spin or just been on the razor's edge of what I am capable of in the car.

For pure "rightness" and times that I've wished could never end there's a weekend in Kentucky that stands out, especially a late-night at Denny's talking over milkshakes with friends.

Recently? This past weekend I went up to the mountains of GA in a small town (Hiawassee) I lived in for a few years for the first time in 10 years. It really reminded me that living in a city isn't a real view of how the world/country and people are and allowed for me to take a step back and just breath. It was truly a wonderful experience and I wish I could have stayed for much longer than I was able to.

All in all though I was there for 4 days and was able to climb and hike a few mountains, rent a boat, see a fireworks show closer than I ever have before and just really unwind and have a great time.

Here is a pic of me on top of a mountain there called Bell Mountain, I was on the edge of it looking down a sheer drop that went all the way to the bottom a few hundred feet below, really made me feel like I was on top of the world looking down at it and made me realize how small we humans are compared to mother nature.

EDIT: Pic not dial up friendly

Yes, thats really me.

When I flew my first solo flight...nothing like that feeling. I was in complete control, yet felt free and alive. Although, I get this feeling every time i pilot an aircraft :D

when i was doing 80mph (70 was the speed limit) on my way back to my house in east texas on a deserted two-lane state highway and i went into a skid because it had drizzled there a couple of hours earlier. did either a 360 or a 720 and ended up in a ditch with a highway sign embedded into my driver's side door. pushed my door open and the highway sign fell down =P.

walked away without a scratch, and i had to get a new driver's side door for my car, but i felt most alive then cause it was as if time slowed down... only time i've ever felt that way.

New years Eve in Barcelona where Champagne bottles were flying and riot police came out.

I was never more fearful of my life and thus my mortality became all the more real.

Every fight I've been in, even just messing around with friends.

Other than that... The feeling of having a girl hold on to you like you're everything in the world to her is my fondest memory.

Ive felt that twice. No sweeter buzz on the planet. I think it must actually be a form of shock. It seems to affect everyone that feels a quake of any size.

About a week ago. I was sitting on a bench, and it started raining, and I didn't bother to get away from the rain and remained seated. That's it. Very weird, but I felt alive, and somehow 'one' with the rain.

Okay, okay, I admit. I'm a stoner :p. (Not really, though)
