Tell of an experience when you felt most alive*

We all have memories, good ones, average and ordinary ones , and then the poor ones leading sometimes to regret. At some point in life, however, I think a person realizes that there was a moment when living and life never seemed as sweet or wonderous. It puts other memories below in comparison of intensity, of duration, of profundity. It also sets a standard by which all other experiences are measured and is something we strive for. What was the time in your life when you felt most alive?*

When my ex & i were first in love...everything since then just hasn't been the same...

Damnit, why are all the threads tonight making me sad 🙁

The most recent time this happened is when I helped my former roommate move to SanDiego.
After helping him move all his stuff we went over to some cliffs that overlook the ocean.
Having no worries about work, or deadlines or needing to remember anything or get anything done was wonderful.
Just watching the waves break on the rocks and looking out over the vast sea and knowing that there is an entire world out there just made me feel at peace and good inside.

The day I became a Christian and the day I gave Christianity up. The feeling of being totally protected, cared for, having a sense of purpose, and the feeling of being completely free to experience the world as I see it, to face my fate on my own power and my own merit, even if it means being alone against the universe. 🙂

during an earth quake. it wasn't a big one at all but it was the first one i experienced. it felt like something was actually happening. it had almost a surreal quality.

July 3, 2005. I could tell you, but they'd ban me. It might make it into the YAGT.org adult forums one day, but until then... Speculate 😛

Mmm, that was my birthday. 😀 :Q 😕 😛

dancing with this girl named at freshman homecoming that I always had a crush on, my real first date.

May sound a little strange...

A couple friends of mine and I used to occasionally test our hand-to-hand skills from time to time. Helped keep us in shape, and since (usually) no pads aside from mouth/teeth protection were used, it'd toughen us up a bit, too. 😉 Anyway, on one particularly cold day after a few inches of snow were already on the ground, we decided to try this again...outside, at night. It was also during Christmas season, and the surrounding areas were lit up with bright colorful lights.

What sticks out in my mind is, as I was leaving, taking a step back and looking around. It was cold, but I was somewhat heated up from my activities. I was also very much bruised and somewhat bloody, but charged with adrenaline and very much alert.
Just feeling the energy, the dulled pain, and the almost numbing temperature mixed with the calm surroundings and the extreme visual "attack" of the brightness and colors was more than impressive. Obviously, since I'm mentioning it here. 😉

That's pretty cool. I doubt many people will ever have a hand to hand combat experience like that, where it's skill with fine weaponry.

Yeah, I can see that. I know it sounds overtly simple and really sappy, but the one that comes to mind was one night two years or so ago when my (now ex-) girlfriend and I fell asleep in eachother's arms on the couch at her house (both of us still lived with our parents). I still miss her sometimes 🙁

who broke it off? her? buy her some flowers. why not

The moment for me was sleep at a temporary Red Cross camp after 5 days of escape from Vietnam with no rest (I had about 2.5 hours of semi sleep in the cold sand/wind in 5 days).

My family & I endured 4 days with out a drop of water, and survived being robs by pirates/dirty cops/militaries.

She did, but it was mostly my fault. and it was over a year ago. Suffice to say that Depression can be a b!tch, and that I wasn't a very nice person to be around back then. I wasn't happy about it, but I can't really blame her either. I've gotten better since then, and she's not going out with anyone (I still talk to her once in a while), but I don't think it'd be right to ask her - or anyone else for that matter - out until I get a job and get my act together; I just got out of college.

And before anybody bites my head off: I never actually *did* anything to hurt her; I was just a real jerk to her and to everyone else around me.
