It was a good thing God had an extra Pheonix Down lying around.

Where does it say he knew that as he was running? Wow I'm surprised he was alive at all with 10% heart capacity. How does that even work?

I'd wager about 90% less effectively than a normal human heart. Give or take.

I'm in stunned religious awe of the majesty and mystery of this, and, of course, full of meaningful, existentstal questions:

Does this change his birth date?

Will he now have to wait another 21 years to drink legally?

Is he still responsible for his old Visa card balance?

Has Cheney been advised?

;)

Man, a statistical anomoly occurs and people immediately go the God course. Oh brother. Well, with mentalities like this, global warming will never be remedied.

God didn't give a sh|t whether this kid lived or died. He was saved by modern technology.

wonder if they'll still give him a heart transplant. 60% capacity is ofcourse much better then 10% but is still quite low.

People walk around all the time with heart function that ******. Body can compensate in amazing ways.

Secondly....miracle or not when stuff like this happens in a hospital it makes you feel damn good. I should know...in neurotrauma ICU today my one patient basically has reached the point of death once we withdraw life support, while the other patient who we thought was dying, woke, smiled, gave two thumbs up and started following simple commands.

Praying, and religion they help you get through it and you need some sort faith to work in a hospital usually. I say fantastic that this kid is doing better....but he's one of the lucky ones...one of the maybe less than 10% that get better from these strange illnesses, defects etc..

I think it's funny that you all say that science saved this kids life (which is true), but it's the doctor who said, "it's a miracle."

60%....he aint getting a heart. Average ejection fraction is usually 60-70% all things depending. He's normal again....assuming when they use 60% they are referring to EF.

 Maybe your heart just stopped, but God restarted it instantly so that no one would ever know. Makes you think.
Yeah, it makes you think why he waited 4 days to revive the kid. Was God on vacation?

If He did it in 5 minutes instead of 4 days, would there even be a story?

See, see! God is making his presence known, but is still trying to be implicit about it!

I am a believer!

For God's sake, he's a doctor NOT a scientist. I'd say most doctors have a religious background. So him saying, "it's a miracle" is nothing shocking. It just a way of doctors saying, "I can't explain it." NOW, get a scientist working on a theory and have him incorporate "then a miracle happens" into it, and I'd be impressed. However immediately after that, I'd start a petition to have him fired for being a sh!tty scientist. ;)

Why would God even allow him to have a heart attack in the first place? Did he just want to practice his revival magic trick?

Obviously he's a show-off.

I never claimed to have any idea of why God does anything.

It is interesting to note that a medical doctor, who likely knows more about the heart than the majority of ATOTers, calls it a miracle while the majority of ATOTers laugh at the idea of a miracle.

I'm guessing that doctor probably has more scientific education than you.

Let me put it to you this way. The most intelligent doctor in the world has no more evidence of God than I do of the magic fairies.
