Eh I agree with that, I think Honda makes good affordable cars. If my parents were to get me a car I wouldn't mind a Honda Civic coupe. Toyota has rather bland styling and doesn't feel peppy IMO. VW also appeals to me, I'd love to have a manual black on black 1.8T Jetta (I'm a guy too :() but it is pricey.

My friend loves her 2003 Corolla her parents bought her, and my brother (25) drives a 2003 Corolla as well. I've driven it and I think the family's 97 Civic is better :p Just a preference. I also love the visibility on Honda cars.

That's interesting Chrysler ranked lower than Buick. Maybe because some old Buicks are actually almost kind of cool? I dunno. Don't get it.
I'm also surprised how poorly Nissan and Mitsubishi scored.

The Altima and Maxima are kind of pricey for teens, they are also pretty big. The Sentra doesn't have the reputation the Civic and Corolla has and the styling is pretty bleh.

I guess it depends on how old you are talking about.

Late 60's to early 70's Buicks rock big time. Same thing goes for that same era of Mopars. Hemi baby! Oh Yeah!

They don't like new Mopar cars, but most have respect for V8 Dakotas.

Most teens can't afford ANY car.. Pretty much everyone i know had thier first car bought for them by their parents.

WTF...I bought two cars in my teens, one of them for $300 bucks. If you look hard you'll find something, some of us actually worked for what we got.

I"m not saying that their aren't kids out there who pay for stuff themselves-- i'm just saying they are by far a minority over those who have everything handed to them by there parents.

Well my friends would then be in the higher end of that as they simply started driving brand new BMWs, Benzs, Infinitis, and Acura TLs from their parents after HS graduation. Me on the other hand... you can put me on the envious end. :(

The Beetle especially is considered wacky and cute, a car teens love and women coo over," Turton said.

I remember when they started making the new beetles in all those trashy colors. Having a nice car is one thing. Turning a 12 grand piece of machinery into a fashion statement is lame.

Which adds mounting evidence to the theory that teenagers are dumb.

Heh, that reminded me of an old onion article

the best is when they put larger wheels in the back of their civic than in the front. You know, you need fat slicks in back on a FWD Civic
