To further point out, FELONY convictions are always admissible character evidence in any court of law in this country. In many places character evidence for trustworthyness can only be used in certain circumstance, but once you have a felony conviction record, all that goes out the window for you. Forever. It's one of those like like once you are convicted of a felony you can never again legally own a gun. There are certain things that stay with you as a punishment the rest of your life in America once you are convicted of a felony.

Since we know 1 person in the vehicle was a convicted felon still serving his time, it lends more credibility to claims made by Dunn. That is how the law works.

I am not saying that makes what Dunn claimed the truth or even mean that Tommie and compatriots are lying.

It does mean there is a possible MOTIVE to any threatening actions Tommie may have made against Dunn and one that needs to be investigated.

convicted felon? uhhh no, a felon would be on parole, he was on probation. If he had committed a felony no way in hell he would have only gotten probation. They put people on probation for shit like stealing. And guess what he did.... steal! And if it was as cut and dry as you're making it out to be, the police would still be considering him a suspect. They're not, Dunn's in jail though, and there's a strong chance he'll wind up in prison. I'll make you a Paypal wager that when the smoke settles here Dunn will be the only person in trouble, and in prison.

Care to take me up on it?
 
There are consequences to actions. Assholes have civil liberties to be assholes. Unfortunately not everyone agrees with this. The guy who shot the asshole didn't believe in his civil liberties. So now the punk is dead and good riddance. One thing is true after all this...that asshole won't be playing his loud music anymore. The world is better off. One down and way too many to go.

Sorry, QueBert, but a felony conviction doesn't always result in prison time. Depending upon the felony committed and other circumstances (first offender, etc.), a person can commit a felony and receive probation in lieu of jail time.

Have seen it happen myself. Wife's nephew got caught boosting prescriptions for oxy a few years ago. While he could have received prison time, instead he received a $1K fine and 3 yrs. probation. First offender, decent lawyer.

So it happens and probably more than you realize.

Ok, but this teen got caught stealing car stereos, which at worst would be a misdemeanor. No matter how you look at it he's not a FELON like idiot here's trying to prove. And he's stupid enough to think in the trial the judge will allow the jury to hear about the car stereos. It's in no way relevant to this case.

Sounds great, but even if he ends up going to prison, which I believe he will. Dunn will eventually get out, so the "one less asshole in the world" sadly doesn't work here. Although Dunn doesn't strike me as the type who would do very well in prison, so maybe you are technically right here.

It hasn't been established yet that the guys threatened Dunn, or pointed a shotgun at him, yet you are agreeing with someone celebrating Jordan Davis's death.

and your point is? he was a punk, and not so far down the road he probably would have been a true menace to society, if he already wasn't.
i place most of the blame on his parents and the government for the pussification of america. it's pretty much against the law for parents to even attempt discipline.

yes, i am sorry a death occurred. it didn't have to be that way.

and i am not celebrating anything.
 
Farts smell like rainbows and when people that aren't like me die it's their fault for not being like me; also, it'll be a great day when everyone that doesn't think like me gets shot in the head (an all too common problem for those that happen to disagree with me on this forum)

How do you know how the guy was "brought up"?

What circumstances are you babbling about? All we know of right now is that he was in a car that was supposedly playing loud music.

I realize that him being black in a car with other black guys makes him a criminal thug in many people's eyes, but not everyone jumps to conclusions.
