I wondered why the Trayvon thread hadn't been bumped recently...I see the resident "thug haters" have found themselves a new "hero", and even better this time...he's white.

Mr. Dunn at his kid's wedding sadly was hating his wife. Killed this kid instead of cheating. Bitch move.

You are at a conveinence store. It's convenient...music, dudes in wife beaters, dudes in suits, etc is gonna happen.

Buy your poison and move on.

That said if the music was killing me, I'd say something to the dude. I am not going to shoot him dead though right off the bat (or stab him/OC spray him) unless he then tries to harm me.

If anyone else wants to stir the pot, call people here racists, or make racist posts, be warned - you won't be posting in this thread for long if you do.

If you verbally threaten somebody's life, they can lawfully shoot you.

sorry you are flat out wrong. i can say what i want to you even threaten to kill you but that does not give you the lawful right to kill me.

Not in my state. That exact scenario was covered in class and explained by my ag and sheriff. This specific topic was an hour of the class.

Again. State laws vary greatly.

how is what he said even remotely racist?

Because he said what he said due to the guy who got shot being black. If this was the 1st post I'd seen from him I wouldn't have put much though into it. But go peruse P&N and it's pretty obvious how his mind works.

your state attorney general and your county sheriff attended your CC class? and they both said its ok for you to shoot somebody because they only verbally say "im going to kill you"? lol are you seriously going to use that as a defense? but but but, sir the sheriff said i could!!!

again show me the STATE statue that says you can shoot people for making a threat.

5 min on google.

http://www.flcwla.com/faq.htm#use_of_deadly_force

Q. When can I use my handgun to protect myself?
A. Florida law justifies use of deadly force when you are:

Trying to protect yourself or another person from death or serious bodily harm;
Trying to prevent a forcible felony, such as rape, robbery, burglary or kidnapping.

Using or displaying a handgun in any other circumstances could result in your conviction for crimes such as improper exhibition of a firearm, manslaughter, or worse.

Example of the kind of attack that will not justify defending yourself with deadly force: Two neighbors got into a fight, and one of them tried to hit the other by swinging a garden hose. The neighbor who was being attacked with the hose shot the other in the chest. The court upheld his conviction for aggravated battery with a firearm, because an attack with a garden hose is not the kind of violent assault that justifies responding with deadly force.

Absolutely false, I said nothing about that. Again, don't twist my words or put words in my mouth.

I have spearheaded that "thug" and all of this BS has nothing to do with race. I have made that point abundantly clear in the trayvon thread (about the only thread I've posted in P&N..) as well as here.

As I said before, take the racism accusations elsewhere. You and the rest of the crew tried that in the trayvon thread and ended up with vacations over it. You calling me (and others) racist are actually the ones bringing race into the thread... by doing that you are the one leaping to conclusions based on race, and thus YOU are the one being racist.

Do not call me racist unless you are going to quote a post and make a point.

False.

In many states, a verbal threat of death can result in justified use of lethal force.

As spidey suggested, some of you really need to read up on your state self defense laws before you open your mouth over something stupid and end up getting shot.

Lulz, that was my thinking exactly.

Sheriff: Dude, I don't usually go to these CC classes...
AG: Inorite? But I heard Spidey's going to be here so fuck yeah.
Sheriff: Fuck yeah.

Spidey delivers once again.

chill dude, i have a CCW from my county in Colorado and NO WHERE is it written that shooting somebody over a verbal threat is justified as self-defense. read 7 post up for For the law in Florida where this crime took place. if i knew what state spidey was in I am sure his state would say the same.

In my state someone simply swinging a hose wouldn't be enough... But if they verbally said "I'm going to kill you" along with swinging the hose = Ok to shoot.

I'm not saying it's the 'right' thing to do, but legally it would be acceptable. If there are no witnesses it would get dropped due to lack of evidence unless there was another public lynch mob.

Moral of the story? You're (we're) not in high school anymore. If you swing fists, firehoses, whatever.. Be prepared for the person to defend themselves.
