Actually he has gunS. :)
And that is part of the constitution. And that is OK. ;) Actually He probably wants all parts of the constitution followed. You just follow the lie that they pick and choose. Nothing could be farther than the truth.
The Constitution is not living or breathing. It is a document. To spin it to fit anyones agenda is counter intuitive to what Tea party goers want.
Those South Carolinians who proclaim themselves part of the "Tea Party Movement" don't actually seem too familiar with the Constitution, beyond their profound belief that President Obama is somehow violating it.

Please keep it up. Please. Please keep lumping people who actually believe in The Constitution with birthers, racists, whatever. It only make us stronger because the crazies still vote and you're pushing the independents to our side of liberty. Please keep doing this, I beg you.

It's so perfect. Please keep calling people racist, idiots, etc. Please keep doing it. Please.

How about calling them hypocrites?

You can't "believe in the Constitution" only when it's convenient, which is exactly what most of those people do.

There is no arguing with the right wing Posse Comitatus that trolls in this forum :(

I'm independent. Always will be. Your kind are not getting independents. Independents are mostly progressive and have a brain.

I suppose that's true in your mind but really to try to claim "Independents are mostly progressive" is stupid. You can't prove that any more than someone can claim they are something else. Just because you are basically a liberal(or it's other name - "progressive") who wants to think he's "independent" doesn't mean others who claim to be "Independents" are just like you.

Independents aren't mostly progressive. Independents reject both parties and form opinions on each issue, well, independently. Some might "lean right" like myself, others "lean left". I think that's generally reflective of a persons inner compass.

Considering I've never once seen shadow9d9 disagree with a single democrat position on an issue, and never once agree with a single GOP position on an issue, I'd agree his statement is laughable.

Another way of looking at independents is people who just can't make up their mind ;-) Just a joke, relax...

There does seem to be a tendency by those who are strict constructionists to only follow the portions of the Constitution that suit their agenda. It's my opinion that the Constitution was deliberately left vague in order to encourage debate about the role of government. You can see this dating back to when it was written down, where there were fierce advocates on both sides about the role of federal government. There are parts that are remarkably descriptive, but other parts that are incredibly vague. Take the idea of judicial review, which has been fundamental in shaping Federal law since the early 1800s. No where in the Constitution is the power to declare a law "unconstitutional" given to the judiciary. Does that mean strict Constructionists are against judicial review?

I treat the Constitution as a flexible (and to an extent, living) document. I understand to others that view is blasphemy, but I can't see it any other way. The world that exists today is almost completely different from the world the founders lived in. Just the technological revolutions we've had would have the founder's heads spinning. The Constitution is a solid foundation for our government. Foundations are meant to be built upon. In my view, the Constitution's very strength is it's ability to survive despite the rapidly changing world we live in. That doesn't mean I condone obvious distortions of the text, but I see it's very nature as supporting multiple interpretations.

I could care less. Never been to a tea party. Never been to a communist party (Democratic) either. However, I see more hateful garbage coming from the left. Lefty's are always trying to make excuses to take over media. Maybe one day they will outlaw all Internet blogs (Except those they disagree with).

Wasnt there just a supreme in the news for falling out of her chair? Guess she took too many happy pills.
