You're looking for 10CFR1 thru 10CFR200. Mostly 50 and 52. It'll probably take you longer than next September.

Look at those crazy risks. And that's from the 70s. Risks now are even lower.

I wonder what the odds of having a blowout like the one we had in the gulf were?

The fact that I can't find a PRA for that scenario should tell you how seriously they take safety compared to nuke plants. I'd bet it's above a dam failure.

It may very well be your point. But you still proved mine. Thanks!

He proved my point and you proved my point. It's my point not yours. My clown is there because I knew what you would see. I saw you coming years ago. It was the idiot repratt that judged by superficialities. I was showing him that, fool. But don't worry. I don't hold it against folk who are behind by making asses of themselves. I'm here to awaken your mind.

if there is no safe dose of Rad then you better be wearing a lead suit all the time. you are being subjected to gamma rad. all the time by the naturally occurring radioactive material in the earth. In the US the "NORM" is fairly minimal but in places like Brazil it is much higher, yet people have lived there for 1000s of years.

Right, in slums.

My point is that you're cute.

And imagine now it was deadly nuclear waste that would be deadly for 100,000 years. They used to dump steel drums of n-waste of the coast off San Francisco. Out of sight, out of mind say the blind.

With nuclear power the risk isn't just with the plant, it's also with what you do with the spent fuel for god know how many years. Designing a safe plant seems to me to be the simple part.

I'm of the opinion that the plants should be built and the waste stored right next to the places that use the most electricity.

The place that uses the most electricity is undoubtedly the nuke plant itself. And that happens to be where the waste is stored, until the government gets off its ass. So I guess that issue is solved.

Keep guessing, it so bucks up my confidence in your opinions.

CG: I am really dying to know what medication you are on. Sorry, if this seems like a personal attack on you, but it's not. I've been reading your posts for years, and have been wondering that. I don't think I am the only one.

What I was asking was not meant to be a personal attack. I honestly want to know. Sorry, I probably should have asked in a PM.

I find it a bit hard to reconsile the claim of honesty with the certain assumption I must be taking medicine. Normally, before I would answer any such question I would probe that assumption. Also, while you say you have read me for years, you must not read everything because I have said many times the following:

I do not take any medicine of any kind at all. I do not use any drugs. I drink one coffee in the morning. I do not smoke or drink. I always forget to have a glass of sherry and have a near full bottle in the cupboard for months. I intend to drink more and while the spirit is weak the flesh is willing. My thought are totally in the normal range for my home world. Why on earth would you think I take medicine? The only think that is even remotely odd about me that I can think of could be that I died as a teenager and went to heaven. And not the near death thingi, either. I simply let go of everything I believed in, all my hopes and dreams sucked away by the Nothing.
