I thought when AlliedSignal merged with Honeywell in 1999, that certain departments kept the AlliedSignal name, like AlliedSignal Aerospace, for example. I never saw AlliedSignal letterhead, but packages were addressed to AlliedSignal and RMA's were returned from address labels with "AlliedSignal" on them. I'm certain of the time frame because it was after TCWO moved across the parking lot from their original location. This happened in latel1999. Like October or November if memory serves me. Details, details. :p

i bought from them a few times, living in Tampa Bay it was nice to go there in person but sales tax sucks.

also I always felt like they took too long to find stuff when I was there in person....like no one knew anything.

No.. none quite like that. If you have a reseller tax cert, you can go to ASI (http://www.asipartner.com) or Sunnytech.

Did you see the site pop back up for awhile? It looked like they were clearing stuff out. I hear they then shut it back down again because the creditors wanted to make sure that any money they got from the clearance sales went to pay the large balances they have with their suppliers. But the savvy owner found another way to dump his existing hardware.. Sell it under a new Ebay name!

Priced2sell*com

Not to be confused with his other Ebay company, Danmartsales

Note how the two auction listings have nearly the same format, most of TCWO's backoffice hardware has been sold under the Priced2sell*com account (Routers, CSU/DSU, I know - I was in theserver room many times, check the closed auctions)

So basically, he's dumping remaining TCWO inventory under a newer Ebay account so creditors can't see the liquidation. They know about the Danmartsales account, but not about the Priced2sell*com account (Not yet, that is)

Fix your ASI link SuperSix. ;-)

Yeah. The only alternative to TCWO is to have a reseller tax cert, which I have access to. I'm now buying from Sunnytech.cc when I'm in a pinch. They're right around the corner from the old TCWO and have a fairly decent selection. Otherwise, I'll just wait a few days and buy from MA Labs way over in California. I'd give ASI more business, mostly because I have a lot of friends that work there, but they screw up too much and 90% of their stuff needs to be ordered in from other warehouses adding a day or two to my landing time. :-(

Ok. I'm going to post this here because ASI's name came up and I know how much my fellow Anandtechers love to bitch about vendors....

Anandtechers bitch about the smallest problems. I always laugh when I hear people complain about a backordered part or a shipment that's a day late. THAT'S NOTHING.

Yesterday I placed an order with ASI because I had a credit with them that I wanted to use up. I had the order shipped via UPS. When I tracked the package, I found that they had shipped it to the wrong address. I called and told them about the problem and they said they'd re-ship the package. I told them I needed it today and that if it shipped to the correct address in the first place, I would've had it today. They offered to ship it via courier.

So my package shipped via courier, but they didn't have another motherboard like the one I ordered originally. They replaced it with a more expensive model and charged me the difference WITHOUT TELLING ME. Then charged me for the courier, which would have been fine if it didn't cost TWICE AS MUCH as the original shipping charges! So in a nutshell, ASI screwed up and I pay MORE for my motherboard and MORE for freight.

Great, eh?
