My first 3 online purchases were from TCWO, back before I joined AT and found FS/FT and NewEgg. I'm sad to see them go despite the personality problems the store had. :(

Similar to my order, I got a Gigabyte MVP3+ mobo, K63-400 CPU, and 256MB of PC100. When coupled with my V2 SLI combo it was a screaming machine for me.

Wow... that sux... I used to use TCWO all the time... Never had a problem with them.

Didn't know about the evil underbelly.... Never count your chickens before they hatch though... they may yet come back up and continue business.

Must've been another vendor. TCWO didn't pickup Gigabyte until the Socket A came out. The only MVP3 based motherboards sold by TCWO were Shuttle, Tekram and Asus.

so JG, when did you get off that sinking ship?

(BTW, the JG rants were the only reason I ever shopped there. I stopped even pricing stuff there once they forced him into silence).

yeah, I remember buying a CPU (must have been 3 years ago) and calling a CSR, he was VERY VERY friendly, matter of fact the experience was so unique I posted a thread here on ATOT about it.

I *think* he is Asian w/o a heavy accent.

i guess you've never had to deal with an RMA from hell before then.

i only buy from a few places with a rep for good customer service if there's a problem. Or Fry's (but only in case of emergency)

Maybe it wasn't Gigabyte then because I do remember buying from them 3 times. Perhaps it was an ASUS MVP3+ board. I also bought a Seagate 9GB drive. They were one of our computer parts vendors when I worked at AlliedSignal back in the late 90s. My buddy in IT pointed me in their direction.

stark: I'll miss you most of all Scarecrow! :) I left almost exactly a year ago after they quit giving out profit-based bonuses.

andylawcc: Nope. No asians at TCWO. If you called for support or an RMA, you had a 80% chance you got me. ;)

Megatomic: Sorry buddy. I'd hate to say it, but definitey another vendor. The owner of TCWO had a thing against Seagate. He held grudges against manufacturers. It took me and Supersix forever to get him to carry the Shuttle 591P and then after that it was another three years before he even CONSIDERED the Shuttle SFF systems. They didn't carry Seagate until SATA drives came out, and even then I was SHOCKED to see the Seagate brand on the TCWO website. Up to then, they only had IBM, Samsung, WD and Maxtor. :p

Dunno. AlliedSignal did buy a lot from TCWO, but not until about 2001 or so. About when the Slot A transitioned into the Socket A is when I started seeing AlliedSignal's name come across the CRM software. ;)

Well, in 1999 AlliedSignal merged with Honeywell and all our letterhead and logos were changed to Honeywell. I wonder how you saw AlliedSignal POs in 2001?
