I recognize the name Taylor Swift but couldn't identify a single song of hers by listening to it...so I vote Gaga.

Edit-I see she is a country singer...I hate country music so I definitely vote Gaga.

Lady Gaga looks fun.....man....she probably lasts all night.

I don't care for Lady GagMe's music, and since she has such a large peenor...that's a turn-off for me as well.

As I said in the "Taylor Swift Love" thread, I don't really care for her style of country music, but dammit...she's cute as hell.

Number of albums sold =/= talent. You might want your daughter to turn out to be a cocain monkey, I'd prefer mine to be someone like Taylor - successful but yet still 'normal', at least as far as we know. Not sure where the LL comparison to TS comes from, LL is more like what gag gag will be in a few years. Oh, and 'responsible' cocain use ... you must be on something when writing that.

Oh yeah? If it doesn't take talent, what does it take? Doesn't seem to be looks since most of the posters on this board seem to be arguing that she's ugly as a dog.

And yeah, you can use cocaine responsibly, just like you can use alcohol, tobacco, heroin, and nearly any other recreational drug responsibly.

girls who grow up to be "normal" are the ones who end up without any real ambitions and are happy just being someone's wife, gossiping with her church pals about bullshit.

i'd rather have a daughter who didn't find any problem expressing herself, explored her creativity, had experiences, and fought for equality of all people, whether they were gay, black, hispanic, asian, purple, whatever.

do i want my daughter to be a drug user? of course not. would i be pissed if she experimented? maybe... i dunno. but i do know that the fear of her trying a drug here or there pales in comparison to my desire for her to be a good person who believes in artistic expression, love of all kinds, and doesn't try to live life to make other people happy.

I haven't listened to any of Gaga's songs besides Just Dance. SO I really don't know what I'm missing.

LGG songs climbed to the top of the Dance charts and were a very popular with club DJs that would spin her stuff long before she was popular.

A good marketing team might get you some airtime on the radio, or some MTV time, maybe some high profile opening slots, but it will not sell that many records. The music has to resonate with people.

Enough talent to sell 20 million albums in 3 years.

I would rather my daughter look up to LGG: uninhibited, expressive, creative, original, fighting for gay rights, and using substances (like alochol, tobacoo, cocaine) in a responsible way, as opposed to a Lindsay Lohan.

Wait, what? I don't have anything against pot, but I wouldn't want my daughter experimenting with cocaine.

Oh please. So the soft porn Alejandro video is called exploring creativity? How about pornstars, do you want your kids looking up to them for their 'creativity'? Where do you draw the line? And as far as I know she's not fighting for equality of all people, she's fighting for gay rights because, gasp, she's gay! So she's fighting for her own rights, which is fine.

There's nothing wrong with using cocaine in moderation.

The Alejandro video had a lot of gay imagry that you don't typically see in the industry. And let's dispence with the puritanical "OMG PORN!" stuff.

Also, she's not gay.

I like how so many people think that liking Lady GaGa would just be trendy and "following" the masses, but in reality anybody who can't appreciate her talent is probably only hating because its the popular thing to do.

Haha, good one. I've only heard the one song, but it's terrible. Same old manufactured pop/dance crap that comes along every other year.

Smooth sidestep. Now answer the question. Where do you draw the line?

Also, she's not gay.

I had heard she was gay, it's possible I'm wrong about that.

More like "the potential to be the next madonna and have an unimaginably long and successful career, at least as far as pop stars are concerned"

Quote me on it and when in 10 years she's still churning out hits, I'll be back to this thread to gloat.

:D
