Does smoking cause health problems for kids? A: Yes

Good. You got that. Smokers aren't the only cause of kids' health problems, but they are an identified, significant cause from a specific, identified source. Attacking any significant cause of those problems is better than not doing so. The tax measure specifically addresses the harm smokers do and applies the revenues towards a remedy to help one of the groups they harm.

Is smoking the only cause for health problems with kids? A: No

So should smokers be burdened with all of childrens health care needs? (Harvey's answer) Yes

But Harvey, children get sick other ways too, how about childhood obesity? (Harvey's answer) Tax the smokers!

Harvey, how can you rationalize charging smokers for all the healthcare for children when you cannot attribute all the healthcare costs to smokers? (Harvey's answer) Because I want to  :|

How about we spread the tax so its equally derived from causing factors of child health care? (Harvey's answer) No! Charge the smokers!

CONSUMATE BULLSHIT! You're inventing answers out of thin air that I didn't post. Either show me where I said anything about charging smokers for the cost of childhood obesity, or try to find a cure for your cranial obesity.

No you didn't post those answers (obviously) but thats your opinion. More than a few times in this thread you were shown and you agreed that smokers didn't cause all of child health care issues, yet you want to tax only the smokers. Time and time again it was brought to you in different ways yet you didn't get it, then when you JUST NOW GET IT you then go off on a tangent instead of agreeing the burden shouldn't be bared solely by the smoking public.

So Harvey, should smokers bare the sole cost of child health care even though they don't cause all of it?

Come on macros!

NO! That's your FALSE assertion of my opinion. You're making it up out of thin air, polluted by whatever you're smoking.

I already answered that. If you're really so reading and mouse challenged that you can't find it, answering the same question yet again won't help you.

Come on macros!

Sure. How about this one...

:lips: my (_!_).

I mean hey... I wouldn't want to disappoint you.

At this point, I think we've beaten this topic to death. At least it wasn't smoke inhalation, and no one's being taxed for reading it. Peace. Out.

If you dont like the tax just quit smoking.

Overall I think this will just cause more people to quit smoking and less people to start smoking. Then the amount of tax revenues from cigarrettes will decrease. The government is killing the golden goose.

I think no one has an excuse for smoking at this day and age unless they are just ignorant.

We sued the tobacco companies with the excuse of helping children. We also build casinos to help the children. We also have state-run Lotteries to help the children. Do you really think these bad things help children. It is all a tax diversion process. Children are not better off when adults do bad things and then tax those bad things. Dont fall for this "For the Children" lie!

There is no cake!

The cake is a lie!
