I can't get any more out of this cpu!

Q6600@3.24 GHz

I think if I had invested in a higher quality MB, I might be able to get more out of it.

Hmm...my local microcenter has Q9550's on sale at $170. I wonder if it's worth the upgrade?

Hmmm...yeah good price. Not sure it would give you enough difference for the cost...

How much would you sell your Q6600? ;)

Here are the starting stats (as of Oct 20, 2009, 23:00 [UTC -1]

_118989 _____ 4 210 ______ Philippart
_119045 ____ 12 304 ______ dajeepster
_119121 _____ 4 289 ______ Petrusbroder

_119225 _____ 4 055 ______ biodoc
_119497 ____ 17 401 ______ Salvorhardin (tentative number, may change later...)

For me to do the stats, please "unhide" your computers because to find a specific computers among all the others is very hard. If the computers are not hidden I can just go to our TeAm's page and check each TAS-members comps, find the right one and get the numbers.

The game is afoot!

Here is a guaranteed method for a simple way to get more performance out of your quads so you can beat me: Pour a large container of RED BULL all over your motherboard. Go ahead. Do it now!

... and the hare is running; ahead of the pack of aggressive, motivated, fast, well trained, well fed pack of ... RED BULLs.
Has ever a hare survived such a hunt? Have ever the RED BULLs given up?
And behind the RED BULLS are the cowboys: hollering, riding hard on fast mounts, the six-shooters clean and prepared ...
Toodoooy, Toodoooy, Tratiratiraaa the English gentlemen's horns toot.
The main land Europeans shake their heads, nod at each other, start their majestic horses in a gentle canter, soon they will be flying past the bulls and cowboys and catch the hare in the 'net...

Maybe this guy can help us out!

My first job at the Boeing Airplane Company was running one four times a day.

I also ran a retro disencabulator at the end of each day to restore everything back to the original so I could do it again the next day.

They never did figure out why I could not meet any deadlines.

We - The TeAm - is #3 in the world in production in the past 24 hours. Our next day will be even higher ... so we may also climb a few steps on the ladder ... :)

I just woke up to no work. The ques are empty. 15 different types of WUs are not available. They must be doing some maintenance.

Edit: I have work on both quads again!

This looks good! more than 41K in just 3 days. Ther difference between i7 and C2Q is quite visible - and the efficieny is much better in the i7 CPUs.

However, there have been some problems in the availibility of WUs. For a period of some 12 - 16 hours no WUs were available and those who had too powerful comps and too small buffers were hit by that maintenance ... ;)

My comp was without work for more than 8 hours :(

If it is OK, would you either post or PM some more details about the comps: more specifically the CPU-frequency, the FSB, amount of RAM, and such data that are not visible on IBERCIVIS' site. Iwould like to do some comparisons between CPUs and coputers when we are done with the race.

Edit: corrected an addition error in the third column (see posts below!)

I'm running an i7 860 stock speed (@2.8GHz) turbo mode off. 1 stick 2Gig Ram stick @DDR3-1600. 300GigVelociraptor. Vista Ultimate 64bit (all updates)... all power saving options off in the bios and control panel. ATI 4850 that is concurrently running milkyway@home. PCP&C 420watt power supply... Asus P7P55D Deluxe motherboard.
and no antivirus

that's all :D

Do you know if Turbo mode on or off matters for DC-ing?

i really don't know... i know it matters if you OC that it be off. So i just automatically turn turn it off as soon as i boot up a new i7..

Yeah I had forgotten to do that on that computer --- so it had only WUs for 0.5 days - and it crunched through them faster than expected.
Won't happen again ... :)
