Somewhat OT:
My main working comp has crashed - will not even boot. Either PSU or CPU-problem. OTOH: it is a socket A Thunderbird 1900+ and has done a lot of work 24/7 since it started some 6 or more years ago.

I will fix it today (I have always a spare mobo, CPU, RAM, graphics card, HDD and DVD-drive at home - you never know when something happens).

I´ll try to get the stats done later today - probably late at night. TG I have BMC's file on the mail server and can use it. But my stats-scripts are on the RAID5 system of the main rig :(, so I need it to work unless I'll do it all manually.

Sorry to hear about the old T-bird, Peter.:(

24/7 for 6+ years is not bad though!;)

Thank-you! Thank-you, very much!

I will be building the next Phenom on Wednesday afternoon PDT.

FedEx is suffering from memory(RAM) loss. It's been on the truck in Seattle since last Wednesday morning. I hope this only short-term memory loss!

The last time this happened, I called the FedEx distribution center in Auburn, WA and offered to send my UPS driver over to pick it up because he can always find my place. They hand delivered it at 9:00AM the next morning! I might have to do this again!

Question for you boinc experts.

I've got about 420 WUs classified as "pending". Since this project requires a quorum of 2 to grant credit and since ABC gives 14 days to finish a WU, I would suspect many of these pending WUs would be re-released after 2 weeks and then I might receive credit finally for these WUs?

I started crunching on april 29th and the first set of WU's expire on may 13th (tomorrow). Presumably, I should see a bump up in PPD as these WU are re-released and crunched by someone else? This "bump up" should be sustained too if I keep a small cache of WUs (0.2 days).

So a bump up in "production" starting 2 weeks + a couple of days after starting the project?

I know this is anal but just curious!;)

Yes.

When I first started this time around, I matched about 20 WUs with someone who never crunched any of them. Two weeks later I started get the credits.

Congrats on the 200k! From the sounds of it I won't be passing you.

Oh and a 100k day! Is there no end to the PPD this month? We're nearing 1/5 the total for the team.

Congratulations, caferace on making the 100K milestone! (you were 2K away when I made the other post and I took a nap, so I missed it.)

Danke. :)

I'm still trying to get unpacked at the new Casa de Caferace. My main box wasn't happy post-move (the Opty 175) and in the end only a full XP reinstall cured it. I tried recovering data using Knoppix and it couldn't even see the drive so an awful lot of cool photos are gone... :(

Right now, I'm swapping a lone Cat 5e cable amongst the crunchers at home for uploads and restocking until I can find the box with my hubs. Out of 200+ boxes, mind you. Arrrgh.

I will hopefully be 100% running by this weekend. I really, really, really, really hate moving. On the other hand, the new house has great insulation, excellent A/C and a lovely pool.

No sir. They are recoverable (they were not family and friend photos for the most part) but re-acquiring them will be a pain. A 250Gb pain....

My bad...

My second AMD Phenom 9850BE has been crunching ABC@Home for one hour now. No problems, so far. Modest overclock to 2.7GHz.

I hope this will keep me ahead of the pack of rabid crunchers who have been on my tail. Well, blert will catch me and time will tell about the others.

PS: Congratulations, biodoc upon your fine achievement to pass 200K!

Everything I have access to is already running at maximum efficiency (considering that they are business machines and some are only turned on for 8 hours per day and the client only actually runs when the systems are idle), so it won't be me catching you but I'll do my best to at least keep pace with you. :)

Thanks RT! I may have to pull my mac lappy off soon. I put it on the back porch 'cause it's been nice and cool back there but summer is coming & I don't want to turn it into toast.

I hope blert has a high clearance on that quad fleet he's running so it won't hurt too bad when he runs over me!;)

Yeah, well we just had our first 80 degree day, so I'll be cutting back on the overclocking to help keep the room they are in a bit cooler....1800 watts of combined power is keeping it pretty toasty right now- the same as keeping a space heater going 24/7.

Don't worry biodoc... I'll stop and pick you out of my treads! :D

And Mr. Toody, it will be interesting to see if I can catch you before the end of the month..... you've got a pretty good start and very respectable numbers.

On a positive note, I just purchased another fixer-upper house that I plan on using for when friends and family visit... I'm converting the entire basement to be my dedicated "crunching area". It'll have 3 20 amp breakers (22 plugs!) and a monster commercial 120,000 BTU AC unit to keep things cool when it gets hot... but that is still 3-4 months away as I'll be working on it in my spare (hah!) time.

Crunch on!

 I wet my pants just reading that post blert!

Looks like ABC is down.:( I run small work caches so my linux quads were sitting idle this morning. I'll be crunching malaria until ABC is back up.

For those of you running big work caches....good opportunity to advance!;)
