Thank you Johan!

All is well - I hope. I have not found any malware at all on my computer ... 🙂

TAS has a new member!

Lets all welcome Networkman to TAS!
A well known, respected and industrious cruncher - see his GRRO in Einstein@Home and some other projects. 😀
Very welcome! 🙂

Oh BTW, if some of you got an error message about using a too latge CPU-quota (or something similar), that is no problem. Johan has done some maintenence och checking around ... I'll be doing some to morrow morning (UTC) - that should not hit too many too hard 😉

WELCOME ABOARD NWM!

Glad you're going to be crunching with us.

Well, my post sounds a little disjointed ...
I forgot to say :
if some of you got an error message about using a too latge CPU-quota (or something similar), when surfing over to TAS' site that is no problem.
Johan has done some maintenence och checking around after the defacement of TAS' site ... I'll be doing some to morrow morning (UTC) - that should not hit too many too hard 😉
Sorry. 😉

Don't mean to hijack, but it's slightly OT. Anyone happen to remember where that link / post is that had the info about a lot of DC projects, and how much bandwidth they used, etc? I'm working on recruiting someone to the TeAm, and I need that info for them...

/we will now return you to your regularly irregular thread.

Thanks Peter!

on Firday/Saturday, I had to keep renewing my DCHP (router settings) because it would just decide not to talk on the internet anymore. One of my machines had some file called '.hMU' trying to connect (zone alarm pointed it out). I blocked that file (although it cannot be found on my HD) and did scans (came up clean).

Was this a result of the hack?

no matter... connectivity has been fine yesterday and today.

edit: Gleem, you help to make it fun so you get one more

I do not know. I checked my comp, found nothing at all using Spyware Search and Destroy, AdAware Pro and Microsoft Beta Anti-spyware, Avast AV-software, Kapersky AV and checking all running processes etc. I used for all the programs the latest versions/updates. All works OK for me. I have not heard anything from other users. So, it may be something else for you. Have you searched the AV- and spyware databases? :Q

Who has the longest crunching QMC-WU?

I'll throw in my as a starter:
Result-ID: 52062 WU-ID: 18088, time 295 595.30 seconds, 668.44 credits (approx. 82.11 hours = 3 days, 10 hours, 6.59 seconds) :Q

Ditto (thank Gawd!)

I'm picturing my X2s throttled back to ~500MHz.......

(my longest is 73,578.63 seconds so far)

These (and I have six or seven usually running) aren't general purpose PC's, mind you. They're running XP Embedded, with a seriously mashed-up config. They don't *need* a lot of horsepower for what they do, so... I keep them busy when they're not doing "real" work. 🙂

Thus far I only have QMC set up on one of my rigs - fortunately, it's the Xeon 2.8, though the resource share is 33% (shared with E@H and uFluids). The workunit closest to completion (which will be my 1st one) is at just under 21 hours at 86%. :Q

Looks like the QMC project is really LONG workunits, while Leiden Classical has some workunits that end in as little as just 2 minutes! 😕

You know, if you unleashed the might GRRO horde on QMC, I bet we could pass Free-DC before the end of the month. 😀

Just think!

-jim (damn Xeon elitists 😉)

Some rigs in the GRRO horde will be shutting down while others will be sharing resources with other projects, like QMC. The net result is that our production will gradually slow down for the WARM summer months and likely pick back up in the late autumn. 🙂

Congrats TAS and TA:

😀 In QMC@Home TA has passed 200 000 credits! 😀 that is a great milestone. 🙂
We have also taken in some credits on the FREE-DC-team:

April 04 the difference was 96 945 credits,
April 11 the difference was 80 713 credits.

The nice thing is that our RAC is increasing - their is stable. 😉
In the last week TA has produced 26 000 credits more than Free-DC. 😀
TA produced av average of 15 100 credits/day, Free-DC produced 11 200 credits/day in the passed 7 days. 🙂

TA may not reach Free-DC, but it is very clear, that we will give them a match! 😀
