Tampons

So my wife sends me out to buy Tampons. I can't figure out why she can't remember to buy them when we're at the grocery store. It always seems to be a last minute thing.

Anyway, I'm standing at the CVS and I'm talking to her on the cell phone and I ask her what absorbancy she wants me to buy. She tells me to just pick up the "variety pack." It's like 3 different types in one big box.

Later on in the week, I'm sitting in the bathroom and the tampon box is sitting out so I grab it and take a look at it (lack of decent reading material.) It seems that all of the "normal" absorbancy tampons are gone, but all of the other two types are still there in full quantity.

I can't help but think of the plastic-ware packs of 20 forks, 20 spoons and 20 knives. Notice how you always run out of forks? You end up with boxes and boxes of plastic knives and nobody wants them because they sure as hell can't cut anything.

They really need to re-think the whole concept of "variety packs." I mean, even oatmeal is the same way. Buy the variety pack and you're left with a box of Peaches and Cream flavor.

I think it's a good idea in concept, but it falls short in practice. 😉

I got the same problem with my "Wholesome favorites" granola bars I buy every week. I love oatmeal raisin. I love maple brown sugar. But applenut just sucks.

so basically, you named this thread for attention and went off on a tangent.

Gotcha.

Think I could put all of the Peaches and Cream Oatmeals together in one big box, throw in some plastic knives and some of the "light" tampons and sell it on eBay?

I've asked my GF about that. She explains that certain days are "heavier" than others during her period, so the variety packs are pretty useful.

*shrug*

mmmm, chocolate *opens box to see chocolate missing* DOH!

OK, but why not just use two lights instead of one heavy?

It's like the bandaids in different sizes... I never use the round ones, never use the HUGE ones that could double as a maxipad in a bind...

Yeah some girls seem to have a dizzying array of strategies for this.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! Can you twist the two together like a pretzel rod?

I've always wondered how it is that a woman can know to the day when the pony's coming to town yet be caught without any plugs.
It's not like it's a surprise.
I'd be sitting on an industrial pack two weeks before it's time. I'd store the pallet of backups in the garage.

...

*slaps forehead*

This thread actually had a meaning behind it, which was shocking for something named Tampons.

I know what you mean, it's the same with variety packets of crisps.

my example was the frito-lays variety packs that my mother used to put in our lunch bags.

poor fritos were always the last to go if ever. cheetos were always first.

Suggest to her to double-up on the normal tampons. 😉
