It wasn't as good as Zoolander, but used the same "create a silly world and take it completely seriously" premise.

I enjoyed it as a dumb fun movie rather than as a laugh-a-minute comedy.

I thought it was pretty entertaining. I expected a dumb movie and that's what it is. Some movies should be enjoyed for what they are with no thought put into it. This is one of those movies.

exactly. some people just don't know how to watch a movie for what it's worth.

you want to see a truly horrible movie? go watch lady in the water ...

QFT!!! omfg that movie was terrible...

I liked Miami Vice though... and havent seen TN yet.. but really want to..

Elf was good and had heart. The scenes with Bob Newhart as the elf father were hilarious.

Anchorman was silly but the fight between all the news teams still has me laughing.

Still haven't seen Old School.

That news team fight saved the movie. Not that the rest of it was terrible, but it made the movie go from "meh" to "decent." But yeah, it was hilarous.

Anchorman is the greatest movie in film history.

Yep. I can't stand people who think it is stupid.

anchorman pwns me!

Anchorman is one of my favorites, but I still contend that The Outlaw Josey wales is the greatest movie in film history.

Talladega Nights was funny, but it was far from extraordinary. I'd rate it as "average" in quality.

it was just a silly, stupid, lol'ish movie.

i enjoyed it.

a will ferrell movie you MUST watch is Stranger than Fiction. Great, enjoyable movie. Not really comedic, but just a really cool story. loved it.

Will Ferrell movies most worth watching:
Elf
Stranger than Fiction

wtf

Elf is freaking hilarious! I love that movie. it's one of my favorite will ferrell movies.

Elf was quite good. Anchorman and TN were blah. Old School was funny. I hear Stranger than Fiction is remarkable.

Elf was ok... far from a great comedy. Anchorman was decent, Old School is a classic and one of Ferrell's funnier movies. I don't plan on seeing TN but I may check out Stranger than Fiction.

Old School was funny because it didn't rely on Will Ferrell to carry the movie. Luke Wilson & Vince Vaughn made that movie.

I liked Old School but thought Anchorman was an awfully dumb movie that was hardly funny.

I do think that Stranger than Fiction is amongst the best movies I have seen all year. It is most definitely the best Will Farrel movie in terms of actual quality. It isn't that slapstick stupid stuff he usually does, but is simply a most excellent movie.

TN is like Zoolander. First, you have to be able to enjoy that kind of movie. Don't expect too mcuh for one thing. :) But with both, the more you watch them, the more funny they get.

I'm looking to buy the DVD of TN for my dad tonight on amazon. The reviews there said the uncut version actually has parts removed that were in the theatrical version!? And says the added parts make the movie worse. But it seems to imply that the PG13 version has nothing cut from the theatrical version? Is that true?

I don't get what people see in Old School. I enjoyed Wedding Crashers (similar characters) far more...

Actually, none of the funny parts were shown in the commercials. Unfortunately, it turns out that they got cut from the film as well.

That movie sucked.
