Is the war on drugs a form of terrorism

  • The amount of money gangs receive from selling drugs is sicneking and grows the CRIME RATE

  • war on drugs is divined by God

  • Remove the penalties and drugs will never have gangs promoting them etc

IF drugs werent illegal then you know how little drugs would be worth.. and that murder and kidnappings and murders would not be significant in drug gangs

The reason the founding fathers wanted folk to have guns was so they could kill anybody in any government that tried to take their freedom to eat smoke or drink anything the people wanted to eat smoke or drink.

Phoenix had to set up a special task force just to deal with drug related kidnappings since it's such a major distribution hub.

I think it's great that we're paying for Mexico to station troops in the border towns where they become the judge, jury, and in some cases executioner - all the while murder rates and other associated crimes are at an all time high because the military doesn't do any investigative work whatsoever.

There is no better example for the need to preserve our gun laws than looking at Mexico where they have some of the strongest anti-gun measures anywhere. Only the criminals have guns leaving the populace completely reliant on the government to protect them.

It's not working.

I think you made a very good case for legalization. How exactly can you fight a 15,000% profit? If you kill Sanchez, then Hernandez steps in to fill the vacuum.

What would happen if the profit incentive was gone? Just like how we no longer have gangs of bootleggers running around shooting up cafes and blowing up cars, we would no longer have a thriving criminal underground running and selling drugs.

The War on Drugs is based on a false premise, that is, you can actually win the battle. We need sensible legalization. I'm not calling for the complete legalization of every drug, with no regulation. However, the more benign drugs, such as marijuana and ecstasy could easily be sold with regulation, just as alcohol and tobacco are. The main money makers of these drug cartels is marijuana and heroin. Take away at least 50% of their money and it'll make the rest of the cartel much easier to deal with.
 
Its funny watching liberals slam government for the regulation of drugs but the justification that allows the federal government to regulate drugs such as marijuana is also the same justification used to back much of the liberal programs that are bankrupting government.

Your strawman just gets flimsier and flimsier. By the way, it was that bastion of liberal thought, Richard Nixon, that started this whole mess.

Secondly, both conservatives and liberals have interpreted the Constitution in ways that fit their agenda. And, not surprisingly, both interpretations have held up in the Supreme Court. People much more learned than you realize that the Constitution is a framework for government, not the end-all, be-all of government.

Please tell me how growing marijuana in my back yard and personally smoking it has anything to do with interstate commerce?

The idea that the lack of interstate commerce falls under the regulation of interstate commerce is the justification for nearly every liberal policy.

I would suggest that the failure to properly deal with the situation on our border is criminal negligence and is an impeachable crime against our people.

It is worse than middle eastern terrorism.

Legalization with regulation at the same level as alcohol and tobacco makes sense to me, but extremists in both parties can't see the value of increasing revenue, reducing enforcement expenses, and "cutting off the oxygen" of the gangs and cartels.

It doesn't affect me personally though (beyond the risk of drug addict crime) since the only drugs I use are caffeine and chocolate.
 
I would be ok with the government releasing lethal versions of the "hard" drugs on the cheap and killing of the users to lower demand. With legalized drugs I fear that we would have more DWI and other instances of problems from drug use. There are probably many people that don't try drugs because they are illegal. I realize my views aren't shared by many since I don't even like alcohol.
 
It's amazing comparing the laws in various states with regard to possession, most of the redder than red states have pretty lax laws - which being in the bible belt is rather strange.

Here in FL, we just passed some of the strictest laws in the country, anything over 20g is a felony. Have a nice day.

I've also read about some extremely shady shit going on where police are staking out hydroponic stores and following people home and trying to gain access to their property right there on the spot without a warrant.

In times like these, it's good to know your rights.
 
Here in Colorado, we have passed Medical Marijuana, and from what I hear there are 800 applications per day. I think I need to apply as I think smoking some ganga will help me quit smoking cigarettes. 😉

Anyway, to the OP, it's all prohibition... and we know how well that worked.
