Well, look around. Every post devolves into a 'Bush is a Nazi', or 'Condoleaza is ugly', or '911 was staged' crap fest. I have written posts on this phenomenon and it is getting worse every day.

Sorry, but I have not seen or heard an intelligent peep coming from the left for months now.

Maybe you need to get your news from other sources or fact check what you hear coming from either side. Start here..

I used to be a hardcore right winger when i was young dumb and full of &*%. Back in college when clinton was in power, i couldn't stand him and i would find many things to bitch and complain about, but I'll tell you what, I would take Clinton back in a heartbeat over GW(I am speaking for a bunch of level-headed republicans too). We are in a world of total crap right now and i fear we are heading in a downward spiral. Don't get me wrong though, I had many issues with Clinton but he carried himself a whole lot better then Bush Jr. does. On a more forward note, I think Syria's next, our boys have been fighting on the border of iraq/syria for a month now and it looks like we might be having another "Cambodia" incident. Either which way, i highly doubt iraq will be the only country to get a lashing.

As to what NeenerNeener said,

I agree. I have a serious problem with the far right when they say you are against the troops if you don't tow the official Bush line of BS. Jesus, isn't open debate and the realm of ideas what our counrty is all about? I can't stand Sean Hannity anymore. I used to like him back in the day, but he pulls this crap all the time and it pisses me off. It's a disgrace and a sham to call any American a "trator or treasonous" just because they don't agree with this President.

Man i'm pissed, and it figures when it's time to go home for the day that my blood pressure starts to boil.

I'm an Aussie, this is my first post so be gentle ;)

It seems to me that both the left and right in your country ( as they are in mine ), are both to the right of centre. This is true mainly in terms of economic philosophy, but also in many other aspects aswell. I find it strange, the animosity that seems to be ever increasing between each so called side. I think the U.S.A as a whole, and this forum in particular, would benefit from an attempt to understand that you're all on the same team.

The U.S.A and "The Allies" defeated their enemies in the 21st Century by pulling together, not tearing apart.

Whether Bush supporters would ever admit to it or not, and regardless of how vociferously "The left" screams it, there is some truth in the OPs' assertion. Exposing how much truth and what to do about it should be everyones goal.

I have always voted conservative, yet I'm alarmed at how far to the right politics has shifted in my country as it has in the U.S. I think most would agree that extremism, be it left or right, has been proven to be dangerous for democracy. So why are we polarizing?

"So why are we polarizing?"

It's divide and conquer at it's best. As long as they have us at each other's throats, the ones in power can get away with murder. I don't know how it is in Oz, but in the states, many programs that call themselves "news" are merely political commentary and conjecture, aimed at incensing and polarizing the population. The media in America is neither liberal or conservative, as I hear so much. It's a money media. They want us to gather around the t.v. and scream "fight, fight, fight" like a boxing match in grade school. They're instigators!

Welcome to the forum martinez! :)

To top that off the Media is the only group that neither party can afford to antagonise in the slightest way. So who's really running the show?;)

It's truly fascinating to me that when democrats say something about bush stealing an election, the republicans respond with cries of conspiracy theory and tell us to 'just abide by the judges ruling'...

and yet when it happens the other way around somehow it's ok to claim that the dem's stole an election and ignore the judges ruling. Very telling bit of hypocrisy there.

It's not the Votes that count - it's who Counts the Votes

LMAO. OK, now leftists claim the 2004 election was rigged. Another unfounded conspiracy theory from the left for you. And you say Republicans spew lies? Try again, YOU are spewing lies.
