"Today, Iran is ruled by men who suppress liberty at home and spread terror across the world. Power is in the hands of an unelected few who have retained power through an electoral process that ignores the basic requirements of democracy," Bush said in a statement released by the White House.

Hmm, was he looking in the mirror when he said that?

Yeah, the Democrats are such sore losers that they had to steal the Washington Gubenatorial race.

You have something in quotes but no source is listed. Where did it come from?

Is it some bogous website or what? If you dont reference where a quote comes from it is not a quote. Is this for applied emphasis or is it a real quote???

I dont agree with everthing about this war myself. However, the lies and the hiding of evidence by the UN and the French Government has been a bit disturbing. Coffe Cup Annon and the UN are not any more trustworthy than Bush or Clinton or any president I have seen in the last 20 years.

If he doesn't represent the people, how did he get the most popular votes ever in an election?

It's not the Votes that count - it's who Counts the Votes

Oh come on, be real, don't forget it was nearly an even split down the middle remember???

Of course not, conveniently forgetting it was 51% to 49%

You're right, it's not about Left and Right. It's about stupidity, which you seem to have stockpiles of.

If he doesn't represent the people, how did he get the most popular votes ever in an election?

He received the smallest plurality of any re-elected president...mandate that.

Yes he may be stupid but he makes a good point. Bush is not representing the people at the moment, the polls show the people are not with him. Any more for us?

President Bush can't even get Federal District Court judges through the nomination process. How do you expect him to stop the Fascists from destroying the constitution and suppressing our rights?

It would be nice if conservatives would quit following the liberals in calling our country a democracy and start calling it a democratic republic. Rule-by-mob is desired by many but conservatives prefer having the law to keep the mobs from destroying our rights.

It is bad enough that any Government wants to limit citizen rights.

Hey, if you new guys want to continue "contributing" to P&N, please have a look at this forum guidelines, which state 'NO PERSONAL FLAMES.'

If you can't make your point without tacking on useless name-calling, go play in the kiddie pool, instead.

Not necessarily directed towards you, but if those numbers were reversed and Kerry were President, would you feel that he "wasn't your President" or that he 'doesn't represent the nation' based on that 2% difference? Or would it be considered a 'great triumph for the DNC' and a vote of the people that 'put Democracy back in America?'

I have a feeling that the individuals and policies and parties involved play a much bigger role in this than numbers and that small margin. Wouldn't you agree?

No, I know I would not be saying the things the republicans say about their victory and their stance behind Bush no matter what that they are buying and jumping off bridges.

I would simply be happy that the Country was willing to try a different path from the wrong one it was already on instead of staying on the wrong path.

Even if Kerry's path turned out to be wrong as well, at least we tried.

By not trying we all fail.

The election is not a sporting event. It's not the SUPERPOLL. There are points for second place, especially when it was so close and disputed. There's plenty of serious thought coming from all sides, wincer. Who told you there isn't? I agree with berries that left, right doesn't matter if your government becomes tryannical.

" This thread is a great example of the lack of serious thought coming from the left..."
One of the most ignorant statements I've heard in a long time.

Well, look around. Every post devolves into a 'Bush is a Nazi', or 'Condoleaza is ugly', or '911 was staged' crap fest. I have written posts on this phenomenon and it is getting worse every day.

Sorry, but I have not seen or heard an intelligent peep coming from the left for months now.

Guess who got the second most popular votes EVER in an election. Kerry.

That's like saying "home ownership is at an all time high". More people voted, more people own homes than ever before. Home ownership has been at an all time high every year for the past fifty.

it is any wonder, those are Ariel Sharon's words coming out of Bush's mouth. Bush can't even find Iran on a map, and he even pronounces it +EyeRan+

Well we both know that's pretty lame. Namecalling like you refer to doesn't help anybody get their point across. In fairness, though, a lot of bad stuff is said about democrats, especially bill and hillary. Check out all the stuff Ann Coulter says about the left. She calls us traitors and treasonous. She spews poison that a lot more people hear than do on these forums!
