Just telling you right now, if you want the full experience of the movie, get the European version, which has been out on DVD for a long time now. I've actually fully watched that DVD at least 5 times haha.

For one, it would technically be rated R here in the States.
Damn, can't remember how to do spoilers haha.

But it is more violent, a little longer I think, and pretty much the way it should have been seen. I've had the DVD for at least 2 months now. From what I've been told, they edited here to be PG-13.

Dunno what the OP is talking about, the Movie bordered on suckiness. Liam's wife is a total bitch and his Daughter is a dumb spoiled tw@ - You really don't care if she gets saved or not. They give you no reason to care about her. That's what makes me lean towards a thumbs down. Action stuff was alright though, a little bit too much shakey camera but I guess that's to be expected these days.

Rottentomatoes is at 60%, that's about right, but I think I'd go 55%. Don't know how the OP could see it as the best movie of the yar =/

Yea, I had torrented it too. Thought it was already out on dvd or something. Watched it, enjoyed it.. A week ago I was working out in the gym at my apartment, and I saw the Theater trailer come on saying it didnt come out yet. I was like.. wtf?? I watched that like 2 months ago.

I guess it had limited release, but maybe they waited until after the christmas season to do a theater release based on what else they had to compete with.

I still kinda want to go see it on the big screen. Awesome non stop action.

Anyone else want to admit they "torrented" it?

I thought it was really action packed. man if I would rate that, it would be R not pg-13, drugs, rape, and all that killing. dont get me wrong, it was well put together, but deff not meant to be pg-13

all in all, was pretty powerful. too bad amanda died though, I was thinking all along amanda and kate(was that her name?) were going to live

Eh, just saw this.

Not even remotely close to best movie of the year.

It wasn't bad, but it's one i have no desire to see again, which means it's not a good movie.

Not sure what the hype is over, but i'd have rather watched Let the Right One In or Benjamin Button again than to have seen Taken, just to mention a couple of recent ones.

I liked it solely for the fact it was violent... nice and violent.. and not so tamed down as most of the 'violent' movies recently..

Although, my brother saw the European version and was pointing out differences... supposedly when the guy gets tortured, the European version has him hammering nails in his knees.. American version is just some jumper cables..

No way. There was no direct showing of someone taking drugs, there was no direct scene of someone being raped either, just the suggestion of it. There was no nudity either. There was violence, but very little gore and almost no blood.

You must have had a sheltered upbringing if you think that's worth an R rating. Go check out My Bloody Valentine 3D for a good example of an R movie. :thumbsup:

Saw the movie last night and thought it was rather dumb. The whole 'special op's guy get's his daughter kidnapped and seeks revenge' thing has been done many times before. It's lacks originality.

n7 yeah Taken was good but it wasn't awesome. Glad to see I am not the only one that seen Let The Right One In! How many times have you seen it so far?

I've heard it would be a decent rental, but don't waste money and time at the theatre.
