Rarely do you get films like this where the protagonist does what you always hope they would do, kill every mofo that wronged him w/o delay.

A lot of times in movies, you see the good guy go "You're not worth killing..." or "If I killed you, I'd be no better than you", etc etc. Sometimes that leaves you with a sense of dissatisfaction. However, that is not the case w/ this movie. You get all the death and revenge killing your heart can desire and each person that goes down you go "Fuck yeah!"

Seriously, awesome action flick, a must see. If you are one of those ppl who have to analyze every detail, premise, flaw, then don't watch it b/c well, of course this movie is far-fetched but it's not about that, it's about the unrestrained killing by the good guy.

I agree, very well done camera and excellent action. Best movie apart from the Dark Knight, all year.

So kind of like Denzel in Man On Fire?
Does he stick a bomb up anyone's pooper?

The only stick bombs up peoples pooper in those German films
They are a bit more sophisticated than that in this film b/c it takes place in France.

I thought it was a good movie, but it's hard to take seriously because of some huge, gaping plot holes. It doesn't even get close to approaching the awesomeness of the Bourne movies, as many people are suggesting.

Sounds like Man On Fire. Denzel was BA in that one.

It also sounds like A Man Apart where Vin Diesel kills everyone around.

I'm starting to put less and less faith in RottenTomatoes. Currently 50%. The ads look good.

I thought it was a different kind of movie than the Bourne movies. Bourne is about a young, energetic assassin, where as Taken was about a really pissed off dad who had a "very specific set of skillz"

This movie is completely badass and is not really too over the top.

I strongly recommend this movie!

***SPOILERS***

First, the whole premise of Albanians kidnapping young affluent tourists for the purpose of prostitution is pretty weak. Like French authorities wouldn't notice a large amount of abductions on their turf and do something about it. I could get over that though.

What really bothered me was the ending. He had just killed about 50 people over the course of 96 hours including at least a couple guys who were ostensibly very rich and powerful. He tortured a guy to death. The French police knew he did all this. He shot the French police director's wife in the arm for fuck's sake. But after he rescues his daughter, he just magically shows back up at LAX like nothing happened. No reprisal, no investigations that we know of. Is it too much to ask that they don't just gloss over that?

RT is crap. Always has been. You don't need some critic's checklist to tell you whether a movie is entertaining or not.
