Most hippies who used to care about wars are now just self-centered old farts more interested in keeping Democrats in power so they get their free healthcare. Most young hippies are protesting because they are too stoned to be productive members of society so they protest Republican wars to try to keep the Democrats in charge to continue to give them free stuff so they don't have to get jobs. Everybody knows this.

If anything hippies back then were just trend following sheep herded by the tee vees and corporate media hyping counterculture as the new outrage against their old white conservative mommys and daddys.

Most of these folks are themselves old now and are the most fervent corporate trend followers still. -The 16% or so talk radio/ foxnews wingnuts. They were full of shit then as they are now. I am sure all the coke in the 80s didn't help their slide into batshit territory either.



Limbaugh had his work cut out for him telling a bunch of coke addled wingnut fellowbdrug addict boomers that greed is good.

A good cultural refrence from 1968 from Frank Zappa about how shitty the counterculture became when suburban trendy conservative kids came to SF in the so-xalled summer of love to piss off their right wing parents (then go home) -to become the modern old angry conservative who didn't get shit from the 60s -but crabs!

Liberals were mostly busy fighting a war back then. Not being douchebags in the streets like spoiled draft dodging cowards that make up the bulk of the whole conservative scene nowadays.
