haha You live in Chicago? Sorry but your weather gets colder there than where I live. Also I happen to own a Browning BAR 30:06, a Savage 110E 308, a Marlin .22 magnum semi and a Remington 12 gauge Featherlight.

We can own guns here, it is just we have to register them and get real background checks so idiots cannot get their hands on them. So you may want guns to be a "basic right" down there. I for one am happy that only responsible people can own them here.

So criminals in Canada don't own guns? Only responsible people?

Well as long as you fork over what you save in taxes on health insurance, it's all good. Even if we still pay more, paying a little extra per capita would be natural in a Country of 30 million vs 300 Million.

We may be socialist to an extent and we are highly taxed, but I would not live in another place on this Earth. We have it good here. Really good.

You may have a national health care system, but at least we aren't forced to wait to receive such health care.

I'll keep the system we have now, where I don't have to wait weeks just to have an MRI done, thank you very much.

Aside from your ****** weather. The Southwest > All.

I'm sorry, but if your whole argument for Canada being worse than the US is that we have tougher gun laws(Which reduce gun violence) and it's cold (Sure, but who CARES, IT'S CANADA IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE FVCKING COLD) then you have a RIGHT PISS-POOR ARGUMENT. Let us look on the flip side.

What does Canada have over the United States?

Umm...Maybe not being hated by the entier Muslim community? That's a start.

Not having an asshat and his best golfing buddies ruling your nation, and changing laws at a whim? Yeah, that too.

Free health care? That's cool. I like that. We may have to wait...But citizens DO NOT GO BANKRUPT SAVING THEIR OWN LIVES!

We can drink at 19 (18 in Quebec)
We can smoke dope and NOT BE THROWN IN PRISON FOR IT
Our economy is taking off and the dollar is rising, while the U.S. economy is slowing down rapidly

A military (even though small) that is impeccibly trained, and is able to control a larger area of Afghanistan with a fraction of the troops the U.S. used with better results.

And, a big one here...PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY. Our leaders do something wrong? They pay the price. Look at the Liberals, they were OUSTED because we said so!

THAT is why Canada is such a great place to live.

I don't think any country recognizes Canada's imperialistic agenda regarding the Northwest Passage/Arctic claim.

To be fair, how many countries aren't? All of Europe is hated as well and they are probably less like the USA in terms of politics than even Canada is. I have to agree with most of your post though, especially on the point about the political system here. We haven't had a great President in ~70 years.

JFK wasn't around long enough to do anything too bad and FDR was the catalyst for government growth. Don't care for Clinton too much either, although I do admit that for being considered such a large government lover, his government policies were nothing compared to Eisenhower, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, and both Bushes.

"Free health care? That's cool. I like that. We may have to wait...But citizens DO NOT GO BANKRUPT SAVING THEIR OWN LIVES! "

Very true. Back in 1994, I fell over 45 feet to the pavement. I had 22 fractures, my legs were basically shattered, required multiple operations rebuilding my shattered knees, fixing my ankles, and my right hip etc over the period of two years. Plus I lived in a hospital for 14 months learning how to walk again.

Cost in the US, not sure. My cost? Nothing! I don;t even walk with a limp! That is called being taken care of.

Such a lame argument. I also wonder where the insurance companies would short change you. Oh this is not covered, that isn't covered. Those $500 aspirins are not covered.

Rehab? We'll give you one month of that, the rest come out of your own pocket.

You wonder? So you'd don't know, yet you have such strong beliefs?

Anyway, I know too many cool Canadians, albeit not on this forum, to think you're the majority. You're just being overly defensive and that's aiight. :lips:

You should be sorry, considering you threw the first and most important two components of my argument out the window in a weak attempt to make your argument seem stronger. Nice try, but if you would actually try reading before you respond, you wouldn't look so oblivious.

What does Canada have over the United States?
Umm...Maybe not being hated by the entier Muslim community? That's a start.
Not having an asshat and his best golfing buddies ruling your nation, and changing laws at a whim? Yeah, that too.

You think Canada is on the Muslim world's "Most Loved" list? You guys were with us too, and now you are recently receiving threats from the terrorists as well. And yes, I'm a Republican, so I'm happy with our current regime. Oh, and how does this affect my daily life again? Right.

Free health care?

Stop right there. It's not free, you pay for it ahead of time in taxes, yet when you want it, you still have to wait? Um, no.

We can drink at 19 (18 in Quebec)
We can smoke dope and NOT BE THROWN IN PRISON FOR IT

OK, so you can drink and smoke dope when you're young and not get in trouble. Wow, what a country. Best argument ever... "U.S. sucks because they don't let you get stoned and wasted when you're 19." You better go to the U.N. with this information, this bleeding edge of civil rights you Canadians are pioneering might really wake up the whole world.

Not.

Our economy is taking off and the dollar is rising, while the U.S. economy is slowing down rapidly

OK. Well, our dollar is still stronger, so come back to me when you surpass it, then I'll be impressed.

A military (even though small) that is impeccibly trained, and is able to control a larger area of Afghanistan with a fraction of the troops the U.S. used with better results.

Yeah, but just imagine the horrifying results if there was actually a terrorist anywhere near the Canadian troops? :Q :p

And, a big one here...PUBLIC ACCOUNTABILITY. Our leaders do something wrong? They pay the price. Look at the Liberals, they were OUSTED because we said so!

Well, that already happened in the U.S., buddy. G.W.B. "ousted" the Clinton administration and we replaced many of the liberals controlling the rest of the government. We did not WANT to get rid of G.W. when it came time, so we gave him another term. Do you not understand that we really do vote for our presidents, or are you one of those conspiracy theorists who think it was all rigged?

THAT is why Canada is such a great place to live.

You can get drunk...get stoned...wait for your health services...and dream about your dollar gaining value? Sign me up.

I don't know what is covered by your insurance companies and do not care to find out. I do know they are a business so I know it is natural for them to try to save as much money as possible.

I know some cool Americans also, that more than make up for the Ignorant and Envious down there.

And you think government is different from a business how? Socialized health care cuts just as many corners as an insurance company is likely to.

As far as things Canada has over the US (or specifically my current location of S Korea) - poutine. I'd kill for some of that stuff right now.

Uninformed and stupid, we have private health care too.

Thanks, come back when you have something between your temples.
