Okay picked up one at Walmart for 249 (16gb version) and $24 for a 3 year warranty. After installing my standard apps and 3 games I'm down to 10gb...GEEZ! I didn't realize how much these apps take up. Bloatware helps too. I can clean these up later.
A couple things I've noticed so far.
_The home screen doesn't rotate. You have to root and install an App for that to work.
_Gmail doesn't allow me to zoom on emails...grr this old man needs to see somethings in large font.
_Now I see what others are saying about the one sound bar. If you hold the N7 (no not you N7 Member) sideways watching a movie or something your hand covers some of the speaker...DOH! Plus it comes from one side. Not a show stopper.
_It's not feather light
_Response to everything is FAST!
_Screen looks good.
I'm using an app to play Mkv's but I can't seem to get 1080p movies to play without skipping. Theoretically Wireless N has enough bandwidth to carry it, but I've not been able to get this on any wireless N device. Is this something I shouldn't even try for with this or other devices?
I have 15 days to return this for a refund.

I use Ultimate Rotation Control. An alternate launcher like Nova or Apex will allow you to use the N7 in landscape with no rooting needed.
Great specs on the N7 but no HDMI and no SD slot= a no buy for me, kinda sad having a kick-ass SOC but no way to expand memory..
just got a nexus 7. traded my xbox and kinect in for it at gamestop. GREAT tablet! much better then the asus transformer i had. highly recommended.
I'm using MX Player (not committed to it). Do you recommend another one?
I have this left screen lifting issue, barely... It's something like < 0.25 mm, and I may not have noticed it had there not been descriptions of it. I'm not sure if it's worth returning over this unless it gets worse.
However, is this a design defect, or a manufacturing defect? I'd hate to return this, and then have the exact same problem. I wonder how common this issue is. It seems pretty common. BTW, some people say that once they've opened up their Nexus 7 units, they found that three screws were completely missing on the left side..
