You guys know that players get fined all the time right? And the only reason this case is different is because the public became aware of it. It's only a big deal because he media is making it a big deal.

Parcells will not let anything like this get out of hand, but unfortunately the media has a different agenda.

Thank you, someone has sense.

JC people stiop listening to the fvcking media and believing what you want to believe because your jealous your team has no chance. Listen to the actual press conferences and you will hear from either side there really isn't a problem.

So T.O. was late and missed another, players get fined all the time for this.

Give me a break, bandwagon patriots fan. :p

TO is being fined and makes the press so Jones and Parcell can get other guys to be in check.

Its like Ashley Lelie. I am willing to bet the Broncos will go after everything they can and end making him pay the Broncos in order to play football. Lelie will be made an example of to show other players holding out might not be the greatest idea.

When Owens starts whining to the press then its something. So far he's been quiet and most things to the press is in regards to his hamstring.

which I'm not sure if its something that bothering him or he's exagerrating it. I dont' see a point in exagerrating it as after his broken ankle, followed by his superbowl performance, no one doubts his toughness.

uh, isn't leslie now a falcon?

You'll have a chicken-shlt receiver with some skills. If he wasn't afraid to get hit and he could concentrate on his play, he'd be one of the better but not the best.

Whos better, right now?

Torry Holt is better, and is a role model of a great teammate.

Torry Holt, and he has been for years now.

Yes he is a falcon now. but because he held out he got fined and Broncos organization if they want can go after him for ever fine and recup part of the bonus they gave him. It may cost him 1.1 million dollars.

as I said it up to the Broncos if they want to make an example out of Lelie. I wouldn't be surprised if other teams nudge the Broncos into getting every penny so it'll keep their own players in check.

Torry Holt, and he has been for years now.

Holt is barely behind TO in career receiving yardage, and TO has been in the league 3 years longer.
Holt pretty much is better than TO in about all of the other stats, too.
edit: all this, and Torry played with other great receivers most of his career, unlike TO.

Holt is a #1 pick. Wouldn't you expect those kind of numbers. Owens for the most part was not a big name player coming out of college.

Holt is on pace beat Owens in is Yards and receptions by the 10 year mark. He's 47 tds behind owens and only averages 7.7 tds a season.

Holt being able to play with great receivers is actually a bonus for him. allows him less double coverages. Sure owens played with Rice but his early years he was not a primary option. Steve young used everyone they had. he was likely 4th option behind rice, stokes, brent jones and whoever the RB was.

How long will it be until:

1) He puts out a book
2) A movie is made about him
3) If not 2, then a movie will be made which stars him

If T.O. would seriously shut up and play he would be a Hall of Famer for sure. He's just too stupid to realize it.

It's too bad he gets so much media attention, but hey, it does tune viewers in!

His $9500 fine is equivalent to a $47.50 fine to someone with a $50,000 a year salary

Here's my issue with T.O.

He's a piss poor role model. And since the media plays him up so much, he is often the face that young kids see. Not exactly the person I'd want my kid to want to be.

Holt is on pace to pass Owens this season. Doesn't matter if he was a #1 pick or not. The point I was responding to was that TO is the best receiver in the game, which he is not.
And he was likely a 3rd round pick because he went to UT-Chat, and he likely went there because he is a dumbass...and you really have to be a dumbass not to at least get into a Big 10 or SEC school.
Regardless, he isn't as good as Torry Holt, and never has been. Torry is the best in the NFL, and has been for some time.
He just isn't as visible as someone playing in a bigger market.

Character means nothing these days. It's all about who makes the most money.

Not quite because he would still be late for and miss meetings. It would be a good start though....
