WTF, the critics mostly gave it good reviews.

Well, the message of the movie is, "American oil companies, led by the American President [via the CIA], are evil and are trying to keep China from taking over the world."

Most movie critics are liberals.
Liberals hate Bush and Big Oil.
Liberals love Communism and China.

There you have it!

Hmmm....

you must have been that stupid person I saw leaving the theater last night who couldn't understand what was going on. I'm sorry.

P.S. The movie was really good.

I saw the movie last night and had a few thoughts on it. Not really a spoiler.

The movie does move a little slow at times, but does tie it all in together at the end. You may get confused at certain parts, but it does make sense later. It's a thinking movie, maybe even more so than Traffic. It isn't about Bush at all, Bush isn't even mentioned from what I recall. However it does give an insight broader than what us typical Americans know. It shows how different peoples lives from all over the globe happen to be very closely intertwined and how oil happens to be in the middle of it all.

All in all if you like movies that make you think then it is a good movie. If you have a set agenda, either complete George W lover or hater, then this movie prolly won't do a thing for ya. You have to be willing to understand it.

You guys saying it's boring probably walked into it not knowing a thing about it. I bet you thought The Insider was a fast-action thriller before you saw it too.

I was going in expecting more action. There was only one explosion, and they didnt even show the tanker explode. lol.

Is this loosely based on a true story?

Based on a NON-fiction book called See No Evil, but the story is very plausible

Edit - I was wrong about the book being fiction

It can be a little slow and a little disjointed, but it's an interesting movie. If you want to see an action movie, this isn't it. If you want to see something different, watch it.

Pretty sure its loosely based on events that happened during the Clinton administration....?

I was thinking of watching this but if I do go i'll make sure i'm not tired. I sat through Traffic and fell asleep because I was tired after work. It felt so boring. I heard Syrianna was like that too, slow pace, plot slow to develop?
