Well, at the time I ordered my 8942... the MCX costed $60 + shipping :Q
Pricing is much better now. $39 @ SVC. So I jumped on the boat and ordered a MCX today.

Nah...
While I am interested in a SLK-900 vs. MCX4000 shootout, I do not ever think I am going to try Thermalrights cooling products after making some 1U server computers.

While they might offer 1º or 2º C difference in cooling in either direction(?)... I can not bring myself to wanting to buy their products again for my own use.
However when I build computers for other peeps, some are brand religous. It would be nice to know what the SLK-900 does before I recommend a different cooler unless they absolutely insist on Thermalright.

As it stands, the Alpha 8942 is still king on higher end air cooling for the P4's on price/performance. But I am in need of slightly better temps as the IHS removal will not be that much of an option unless I decide to keep a chip for a year or so...

So Thugs, it looks like the Swiftech with the 92mm Panaflow low fan is an excellent quiet and cool HSF solution. I currently have an Alpha PAL8045 with a Vantec Stealth 80mm on my old Athlon 1200. I am upgrading to a 2.8C P4 in the near future (as soon as it is available) and will probably pick up the Swiftech with the Panaflo. Thanks for the info.
