Wasnt the chance of seeing a black hole floating around something like 1/billion? We saw one, light from a star became warped and dissapeared, then came back. We were lucky enough to see a black hole floating through space, but now we know how to detect them properly, we see them all the time. I suppose once we have the technology/know-how, we will be able to see wormholes/whiteholes.
Passing the speed of sound was suppose to be impossible, but we did it, and at somepoint in time we will discover how to get around the speed of light, using wormholes, using Bells Theory (quantum entanglement), or by some other means.

You can jump to E=MC² , and say bla bla bla , but its like any scientific experiment, until you actually do it you just dont know all the variables, um the sound barrier is a good eg.
