Only if you notice the different. Average Joe could care less if the LCD is hooked up by VGA or DVI as long as it works and looks good.

any generic DVI cable off ebay is good enough ? Also I notice my monitor is DVI-I dual link (analog and digital)... would it be ok to use DVI-D (digital) ? The difference is this. Would it technically still work ?Originally posted by: Mo0o

I would say it's the difference between an audigy2 soundcard and on board audio. You might not realize what you're missing until you actually get the audigy2 and hear the difference. I have dual monitor set up and theres a big difference between the DVI and VGA, mostly the picture is much clearer and no ghosting effects.
