That's pretty neat that you can get government sponsored ammo to go target shoot at that event!

I would love government provided ammo for shooting competitions.
Switzerland is often used a model of responsible gun-ownership. They have one of the highest per capita gun ownership rates and an incredibly low crime rate. Unfortunately the US cannot emulate this model, due to numerous socio-economic reasons.

The Stgw.57 in that guy's locker would fetch thousands of dollars here, if you could find one. Awesome rifle.

Sweet, the government gives you ammo for free!

Well at least we can get cheap surplus WWII weapons and ammo from the CMP.

My Uncle is swiss and I did see his rifle once when we visited.

In practice who knows how effective all of this would really be. I wish that I was legally mandated to have an awesome rifle at home, though.

so wait, you think more guns means a lower crime rate?
I KNOW the easier access the good citizens of a country have to guns the lower the violent crime rate.
There are many reasons why, and we dont have time to get into them here.

I seem to remember reading the Swiss gov't audits the guns and issued ammunition pretty strictly. If you have shit not accounted for, they fuck you in the ass pretty hard.

Dunno about private ammo sales though.
