Interesting video showing how Sweden is actually more privatized than America in many ways. Sounds like they have some good policies in place. The free market is almost always better. This is just another truth bomb that shows how out of touch today's liberals are with reality.

Sweden has a primarily government-funded health care system ranked significantly higher than that of the US, according to WHO data.
So, if the Swedish system works so well, will you endorse single-payer health care in the US?

I am glad that spidey is trying to let all the other ignorant conservatives know that the extremely successful socialist systems in Sweden don't make it a socialist state. I mean, he's right. It's amazing that he's managed to do this, but I'm not sure his conservative brothers and sister will allow him to pooh-pooh the myth of Scandanavian countries being socialist hell-holes, based on the evidence of, uh, them wanting it to be so.
While I agree Sweden is not socialist, he claimed it is more privatized than the US. Government expenditures are approximately 50% of GDP in Sweden and about 37% in the US. It is not more privatized in any way, shape, or form. In order to reach Sweden levels of government expenditure we would need to increase YEARLY government spending spending by about $2.5 trillion.
It’s the same old dance that conservatives always do. When countries that spend more than us on government fail it’s because the socialized parts of their country failed. When countries that spend more than is succeed it’s because capitalism is so great.

Sweden isn’t socialist, it’s capitalist driven society with high taxes for lavish benefits. I don’t have anything against this model but I’m not sure it would necessarily fit a country like the US.

Correct, all of the scandanavian countries are Capitalist countries, they have strong social safety nets and strong welfare states.
The reason capitalism works so well in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark is that they have strong social safety nets and welfare systems. There are no actual "socialists" in the us who want to bring about socialism. So called 'democratic socialists' are in fact capitalists who want a system similar to Scandinavia. Nationalize things for the public good, but, keep most things like the means of production and housing private. Keep a supply/demand economy rather than a "command economy."
This is why all the right wing news that compares liberal ideas to venezuela is so incredibly stupid and why we more or less shit all over the right wing. It's that overwhelming willful stupidity that has been tearing the country apart for a long time.

It's a social democracy -- this hasn't been a secret. The problem isn't that this wouldn't fit the US, it's that many American conservatives falsely claim that elements like socialized health care or subsidized college are tantamount to full-on socialism and the death of liberty. We get the scaremongers out of office and the media and at least some of Sweden's model would likely fit just fine.
