Its not like the kid brought just a pellet gun to school, he brought one that was made to look like the real thing. From the pics I didn't see an orange tip on the barrel. So cops did the right thing, thinking he had a real weapon.

I love Darwin.

A pellet pistol shouldn't have an orange tip (not sure if you meant to imply that they do, possibly not), and most pellet pistols are designed to mimic real guns (again, not sure if you meant to imply that they aren't)... yeah, the cops definitely did the right thing, I don't think you'll find many people who disagree with that.

Hmmm, I thought they had to be, guess not.

Toy guns get orange tips. Pellet guns aren't really toys, they can still hurt someone, so I don't think they get the tips... I know none of the ones I had when I was a kid had tips, nor did the ones I googled. 🙂

No...pellets CAN seriously injure you. So they don't have the orange marking which means "fake". I know that a lot of the airsoft stuff does but then it doesn't fire with as much force.

I've put a hole through a wood fence with a pellet gun from about 40 feet away. I've put a big dent in an old metal wheelbarrow from one....they are not toys and should not be aimed at a person.

well i guess being 15 and in the 8th grade would make anyone wanna die.

maybe this loser will succeed since he failed at getting an education!

edit: actually hope he lives. don't want this on the swat members conscience.

A 15 y/o 8th grader? Omg. I'm 14 and in 9th grade.

Um gfu. If you skipped a grade I'd probably understand.

But either.

1. He got held back.
or
2. He started late.

Still, that kid must've been really good to hold a bluff of threatening to suicide when he knows he has a pellet gun.

15...8th grade...sounds like hes got more problems. another thing, does this gun appear EXACTLY as a real firearm? cause if they had such a big scene I dont know why they didnt notice it was not real

If a gun is pointed at you...you don't try to figure out if it's real or not, you ASSUME it's real or you could end up dead.
