Ok, here's the deal. I've been setting my virtual memory in Windows 98se to a static setting - roughly 2 and 1/2 times the amount of RAM installed on the system. However, 2 things:
1 - I've recently purchased a kraaplode of RAM because it is dirt cheap - 512MB to be precise (total cost=$130). Is it really prudent to have a swap file that is 1.2GB large??!!! It leads me to believe that there must be an optimal number to set it for when you have so much RAM - true? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
2 - At work, we just upgraded to Win2K. Now, in the same vein as above, is there even a swapfile/virtual memory setting in Win2k? And if so, how do you manipulate it?
Thanks!!
