SVC, not a hot deal but a warning. -- IMPORTANT UPDATE from SVC. AnandTech Moderator

SVC has been a great store for the 4 years I've been doing business with them. They've screwed up my charge amount twice in that time, but both were promptly corrected. Not to mention that the guys there are very friendly, helpful, knowledgable, and just altogether great people to deal with.

Nothing but props from me. 🙂

I love this company!!!! So quick to to take responsibility for their mistake. Now if they will go through their records and contact those accounts that were overcharged, count me as a customer for life. I like their product selection, service and prices. A great company in a business that needs a competitor like they are.

Why did you post a thread slamming them before giving them a chance to correct the error?

How many other people did they make this 'mistake'? How many other people didn't realize it until OP posted this warning? IMO OP did everyone a service...looks to me this isn't an isolated incident.

I'll throw in my two pennies...ordering from SVC has always been a positive experience for me. They are usually my #1 stop for cooling, cables, and accessories. You guys should really put away your Jump To Conclusions mats.

Mahalo to the OP for posting the info. I just called SVC and they say they willl be taking care of the discrepancy. I'll check my statement in a few days and see what happens.

My feelings exactly...
They have great service too... for SVC!

Since everyone is throwing pennies ... I've ordered from SVC without a problem, and in this case, SVC corrected their problems without giving the customers problems. But not all companies are like SVC, and if SVC had been bought out by Evil Bastards Inc. and started screwing over their customers, I'd want to know about it here, where I go to find good deals.

I'd hate to find a deal here, spend my money on $200 6800 video card, and be sent a slab of PCB with a Motorola 6800 stuck in the middle, just because "complaints belong in another forum."

i have done a few walkins to their warehouse, and the guys there are very nice and friendly. great customer service. i highly recommend SVC.

I jumped on the XP-90 deal (when it was only $10 off, darn it!), and just check my Credit Card statement. The charge appears to be correct.

Too bad I forgot to order a 92mm fan as well. DOH!

SVC is a retailer that we all use at AT. They have messed up my order twice and it took me several emails to clean up one. There are too many of us with order problems. When I order I buy for severals months usage. I don't have time to look at every piece. I buy for the company I work for so I get my AmEx bill once a month. I don't want to check my
$9.98 order and have to hassle with them. So....Newegg, Acortech and Computergeeks have my business. Sorry, SVC. Fix your system or you will lose more and more business customers.

Looks like you will be an excellent addition to the A/T membership...
Welcome! 😀😀😀

Funny how the problem is always announced after Hell is raised about it. I have yet to see an error be announced before hand.

I had this happen to me with excalibur 2 years ago and the GM personally Paypalled me from his own account. Of course it looked like he is out of a job now...

Thanks OP. I recently ordered a Cooler Master case from SVC and was quite happy with my order and their service. If I had such a problem as you have described I would be grateful that someone such as you made such a post. It's also good that SVC is taking care of their customers. Kudos to you both!

I also was charged 87.18 when it was suppose to be 57.18. I e-mail them about the problem and I am sure they will take care of it. I like SVC and their prices are good, crap happens and we are human beings and make mistakes.I will buy from them again when they have good buys.

They screwed me over a year or so ago. Looks like they're still up to shady crap. Will never buy from them again after what they pulled.

They messed up an order, and refused to fix it. In addition I had to pay money for shipping their mistake back to them. Horrible place IMO.

wow what a pathetic low tech operation - they first add the coupon to the price and then rely on employees manually scanning the printed pages to reverse the addition into substraction. umm....this is the 21sy century, you know, and you sell technology products, it's quite sad you are operating this way. It would save you time and money if you modernize you order processing system.

Actually its funny reading this, because they CALLED me a few weeks ago telling me they overcharged me (I never even looked at my CC bill and realized it, because I often check the vendors on my bill, not the prices, just to make sure nothing was charged I didn't order...)

Anyway, they called to inform me of the problem and to notify me they are charging $30 back to my card. They could have just charged money back, but went a step further. This is seriously a very notable jesture, and if you look at the facts, they are going through all of their past orders and looking for problems without people even getting involved.

Nice but... which fan should I get?

I'm not gonna use it right away, but for that price I want it for a future build.

It's really funny but I still have a Zalman CNPS7000-Cu I bought from xoxide.com probably over a year ago still in the original vacuum pack. It turns out the P4 and now the Celeron-D come with pretty good cooling.

I'll use them eventually.

i have ordered from them and have had all great experiences, one time i ordered a bunch of round cables different colors, reg length and one long floppy cable, they sent me all reg length cables, i called or emailed (not sure) and they shipped me the right cable free and told me to keep the other one, it was an honest mistake and i will order from them again
