the service has been great from svc. i've never had a big problem. i've only encountered 1 mistake and it was taken care of quickly. SVC has always been one of my favorites.

i used to have very good experience with svc ... they still arent bad but take a LONG time to ship, and occasionally ship the wrong item.

They open at 10:00 PST, nice hours

Hey, if I ever started my own place like that, I doubt it would be open before noon PST 🙂

i ordered using my paypal debit card, and the charges seem to be correct, but i will definately keep an eye out on the statement.

I was by there this afternoon, they will take care of the problem.

I have ordered literally thousands of dollars worth of stuff from them, and I have never had one single issue. All of these people complaining are in the minority!

They credited my account for the $30.

Good company, this was a minor issue, the key thing is that they have someone who answers their phone and is very professional when a problem does arise

Been using them for a yr or so will continue to do so.

I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from SVC, they are my go to place for smaller items because their prices are awesome and their customer service is excellent. I haven't had them make any mistakes, but their shipping can be a bit slow and there doesn't seem to be anything to advanced about their system.

However, having good intentions and excellent customer service make up for any shortcomings they have on a technological front IMO. I'm sure they're doing their best to move to a more reliable system.

This company just publicly (1) admitted to the problem, (2) explained the problem, and (3) gave a fix.

Most companies give (3), some give (1), and I can probably count on one hand the number that did (2). SVC just earned a big fat *KUDOS* in my book.

The people working there may be nice, but one of the owners is just straight up an a$$hole. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't know sh!t about computers either. I have vowed never to do business with them again after working for them. Even if they have the best selection and prices, I still don't buy from them. I have case-mod.com for that. If you knew how they treated their workers you wouldn't buy from them either. I don't know. Maybe times have changed but I highly doubt it...arrogant bastards.

Their customer service is flawed too. I bet you anything there is only one person on the phones. Two at most. They need to have like 5 people on the phones.

Just my two cents from someone that DID work for them.

Thinking of ordering another one from them, although they did get the charge right for me the first time 🙂

And to the guy who asked what fan to get - go with something quiet, the xp90 is an insanely powerful cooler, and there's no need for a high speed fan unless you are going to be feeding your processor a LOT of voltage.

i will say ... i would definitely order from them again.

i just wouldnt order anything i needed to be in my hands within 10 days.

i recently ordered a xp-90 heatsink and a fan from them too, and had it shipped via priority mail. after almost a week of waiting, no package, so i finally called them up yesterday to check on the order status. i was told that they had a whole week worth of priority mail shipments returned to them, and have been sorting through them really slowly. i was also told that they had no idea whether my package was among them, and no way of cancelling my order since they have no idea where my package is at this point. That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Of course they went ahead and charged my credit card. I asked about upgrading my shipping, or ship me replacements, obviously I was denied. I had ordered from them before, and usually didn't have any problem, but it does seem like they are nowhere near as organized as Newegg or other bigger name places. The only reason I would order from them is because they sometimes have the lowest prices on the heatsinks. I think I'll try to avoid them the best I can from now on, at least until they get their acts together.

Just placed an order with them yesterday. I got an e-mail saying that they couldn't authorize my credit card (strange, since I have never had any problem with authorization, and I submitted the 800 number on the back of the AMEX). Anyway, I checked the records and the address was correct that I gave them. I e-mailed them back and just stated that I wanted the order canceled and wanted a follow up e-mail to verify that it was cancelled. 6 hours later i'm still waiting for a cancellation e-mail to confirm that they refunded my credit card.

*meh*

The same thing that happened to happybob has probably happened to me. I ordered an xp90 that was supposed to be shipped priority mail and here it is 7 days later and its not here yet. They even sent me a USPS tracking number that doesn't work. I emailed them yesterday and got no response and now that I know what has happened I don't think I'll get one.

The last time I placed an order their site said what I wanted was in stock and so I placed the order a few days later it still wasn't shipped so I emailed them and they told me it was out of stock, but they never even bothered to let me know until I complained. The time before that I ordered like 5 or 6 things and only got part of my order sent and I had to call them to find out what was going on. So now its 3 strikes and SVC is out. This will be the last time I ever order from them. Newegg might have higher prices, but at least you know you'll get what you pay for.

Don't you realize that them not being able to authorize your card means it has not been charged? At this point this is nothing for them to refund

SVC is a great company....freaking bunch of idiots claiming fraud and crime before even giving the company a chance to explain.

Glitches like this are rare, but unfortunately a lot of times when they happen, happen to several people at the same time.

he's not looking for a refund. he's looking for a confirmation that the order is cancelled as most companies will re-try to authorize for like 3 days.

6 hours? damn I am happy to get notified my card was processed after the automated order confirmation in 24 hours.

If you want instant replies and crap buy locally for more money and walk into the store when you have yet another problem.

I ordered over the weekend after reading this thread. It shipped Super Saver that following Monday, or so I was told via email. It arrived the following Monday or Tuesday.
It took longer than I figured, but I'm used to newegg, too. I'm rarely dissatisfied dealing with SVC.
Way back, I had a problem but they straigtened it out. Other glitchs were also fixed with a gesture of appreciation, such as a refund of shipping.
Clearly, they aren't newegg, but they certainly aren't the nightmare some folks have described of other websites at resellerratings.com.
How about a little slack for the undertrained, drug abusing idiot employee factor.

Ok, SVC, now where's my payoff? 😉🙂
