Suspicious incident at major reservoir in MA

So, what could they have done? What ingredient could be added to a reservoir that wouldn't be diluted to meaninglessness?

Possibly a pathogen that can multiply in water?, I can't see what's so fascinating about a body of water that would incline one to trespass just to see it, sounds fishy as hell to me unless they just wanted to be alone to bang the girls it the great outdoors kind of thing..

So figure it out. I asked a specific question. If you have the answer, answer it...

I'm not going to post here pretending to be a chemical engineer or water quality expert. Someone else will have to answer this question for you

It is well known that the quabbin reservoir is the principal water supply for the city of Boston and surrounding areas. Tampering with it, trespassing and acting suspicious in that area at 2:30 in the morning is illegal and for good reason they were arrested.

Considering recent terrorist activity that happened in Boston, you would have to be a moron to approach this critical piece of infrastructure, late at night, be a foreigner and be Muslims. Its just playing with fire and asking for trouble, even if their intentions were pure. These guys are not going to stand a chance in court.

There are very few things you could put in the water that won't be diluted so much as to be harmless.

You can see everything from the parts around the reservoir that you can from the no trespassing area.

The paranoia is amazing.

Probably just a prank or some kids getting high.

All you have to do is something that will halt the release of water to the majority of a state for a few days to cause a panic.

While they're nationality is suspicious, they could have been there for any number of reasons not malicious. I've been all over places I shouldn't have been, for no other reason than I wanted to be there. Their story might sound ridiculous due to being taken too literally. Add into that the witch hunt atmosphere we have going on in the US, things can look worse than they really are.

The reality of the times is, if your a Muslim living in the USA your already a suspect, I'm not saying it's fair but knowing that, why in the hell would possess you to trek to a reservoir used as a drinking water supply in the middle of the night?..

So I guess the plan to go get some fireworks, buy some pressure cookers, and sign up for flying lesson is out eh?

How many Pakistanis does it take to form a terror cell?

7. 5 men to do the shooting and bombing, and 2 women to be the human shields.

You realize water's treated and monitored when it's pumped from reservoirs, right?

not all of it. remember the guy pissing in a small reservoir in Oregon and they drained it? well to everybody horror that water in the reservoir was already treated and there was nothing between it and your tap. duck shit an all.

LOL, 2 of the 911 pilots spent time here in Daytona, we have one the top aviation schools located here, (Embry Riddle) Really, IDK what they were up to but you've got to use common sense in today's stereotypical world, I used to drive home at night after work through an area known for hookers, got pulled over twice for a "routine check" so I changed my route, from the cop's perspective, middle aged man driving alone, check, riding through late at night, check, probably looking for a $20 BJ, check, pull 'em over!..

I read some of the links posted here. Where does it say they are Muslim?

I saw a documentary on terrorism or something (been a long time) and they said, even using the most deadly toxins, poisons, biological agents or whatever, you would need like 20 LARGE TRUCKLOADS (caps appropriate) to adversely affect a large reservoir due to dilution alone.

Hopefully not double posting here, but despite the size of the water supply, this makes me very uncomfortable for the above reasons. Dilution be damned, if there is a way to affect our water, these bastards will try to do it. Imagine if they succeeded? Holy fu...

succeeded at what? what were they attempting? as far as you know, absolutely nothing.

Well considering the reservoir is used for general recreation. It isn't like it is closed all the time to civilians. It could be that some College students in the middle of the night decided to visit the reservoir. Not the 1st time or the last time that College students will trespass.

And terrorists will terrorize!

Sounds like we need checkpoints on every bridge and armed guards patrolling every river and lake in America. Otherwise the terrorists will poison our children!

DHS should also monitor the water usage of every person and business. Want to tell who's going to poison our water? Simple - they won't use as much.
