Survivor: South Pacific, fall '11

lupi

Lifer
A lingerie football player, a medical marijuana distributor and Russell Hantz's nephew make up 16 of the 18 castaways who will compete on Survivor: South Pacific.

The upcoming season's tribes, Savaii and Upolu, are named after two islands in Samoa. The "Redemption Island" twist will be back, which allows eliminated players an opportunity to return later in the game.

Jeff Probst inks daytime deal with CBS

Two former players, who'll be revealed later this week, will return for the 23rd installment of the CBS series.

As reported elsewhere, the returning cast members are Coach and Ozzy.

Semhar Tadesse, a 24-year-old spoken word artist, Los Angeles

wtf is that? Is that a poet or a performance artist, because if it's a performance artist I hate him (her?) already.

Hahahahaha at the returning players.

Not sure why they do the returning player thing, it kind of ruins it imho. I want people with no clue out there running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Wait, I guess those two will fit in. 😀

(I still think it's dumb to bring players back.)

I think it's a good choice of returnees. And it does give a new dynamic to the game and as we saw with last season, how the newbies handle them can either sink or swim their chances. Plus some viewers can't get enough of some of their favorites, so this lets them sprinkle them in without constantly going back to vet only seasons.

and yeah, I'd never be able to make it. I go into the backyard without a several second blast from the off can and I've got welts up and down my limbs within 10 minutes, god forbid a jungle situation for a month.

What's with bringing that coach guy back yet again? I'm tired of seeing the same retreads back time after time. Another friggin' Hantz ... is there really nobody else in the world that's not related to that troll they could put on the show?

With the "spoken word artist" bull? Does that basically translate into "unemployed fool who talks too much"?
