With Obama as the new president, pushing his so called "stimulus" bill, the floodgates of broken promises and shady dealing has opened. The left has become unrecognizable among a group of prophets of doom, as one after antoher they literally warn of dire consequences unless their stimulus plan passes.
What's in the so called "stimulus" plan however? Very little stimilus, and a lot of bills that wouldn't pass congress on their own. This is shady politics at their darkest hour. Democrats are using the crisis not as an opportunity to show leadership to fix the economy, but to use people's fears to push a biill through that would enact hundreds of billions of dollars that have nothing to do with any kind of stimulous.
The scenario we have today is like a robber telling you that unless you sign over your house to him, he'll kill your wife and kids. You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't.
The Democrats in power today are also throwing around their rhetoric of "partisanship". Obama starts by giving the 2 most polarizing partisan hacks in Congress, Pelosi and Reid, the task of creating his stimulous package. The idea that Reid and Pelosi crafted the bill is sickening, but nothing wrong with it on principle. The idea however that Republicans are supposed to bend over, take it from behind in the name of "partisanship" is flat out political disease. The left is not only shutting republicans out of the decision making process, it is flat out USING the economic turmoil to push through their batshit insane liberal agenda on the American people through fear and political dark room discussions where dissent is not an option.

The bottom line is that the left doesn't give a crap about recovering the economy, they don't care about partisanship, they only see this mess as an OPPORTUNITY to enact a whole lot of socialist, communist dogma that the American people don't want. Sure, the robber wants to give you your wife and kids back, but not before he leaves you bleeding analy out in the cold of winter and he's got all the legal power he needs to stay out of jail, in the Democrats terms, in power.

I'm hopeful that the left is going to be voted out in a landslide defeat, but I'm afraid that they're going to do so much damage that that won't be soon enough.
