Supreme Court Looking at Porn again...

Well... porn law..

Supreme Court gets second chance to study online porn law

The Bush administration has appealed to the Supreme Court to reinstate a law that punishes Web site operators who expose children to dirty pictures and other inappropriate material.

The court has already sided with the government once this year in its war against online smut, ruling that Congress can require public libraries that receive federal funding to equip computers with anti-pornography filters (

In an appeal filed Monday, Solicitor General Theodore Olson said the filter technology alone is not enough. Children are "unprotected from the harmful effects of the enormous amount of pornography on the World Wide Web," he told justices.

The broader law at issue now requires that operators of commercial Internet sites use credit cards or some form of adults-only screening system to ensure children cannot see material deemed harmful to them. Operators could face fines and jail time for not complying

How about we do all the sinful stuff we want to, and we crucify all the Jesusfreaks to pay for our sins?

What cracks me up is that so many of the vocal "Jesusfreaks" are f@pping at as much pr0n as anyone else. 😉

"Methinks she doth protest too much."

That's not the point, the problem is when porn gets onto the screen without the little kid's consent.

So you think it is okay for 10 year olds to be objected to pornography? (not talking about sneaking into dad's magazine box either...)

so let day superme court rules this law is constitutional, all the computer outside usa are not affected by this law. how will that protect children from porn?

I remember I was going to some World History classes at a community college over the summer and I was in the computer lab playing Shattered Galaxy while the guy next to me was looking a pr0n. I was too busy playing to actually notice what it was.

That does not sound like the issue at hand. The original post mentions requiring people to take cc numbers for age verification, not unsolicited email and IM spam. If the government wants to stop those it can, but it obviously does not want to hurt the spam industry. What it wants to do is take away all responsibility from the parents so they no longer have to raise their children.
