That is the world liberals demand to live in.

Just look at the threads about Hobby Lobby. Where all the liberals claim that corporations only objective should be to maximize profits. And the idea the corporations might have actual values is counter-revolutionary.

This has nothing to do with Hobby Lobby.

Whats wrong with that system they had?

Company was making money (maybe not enough for the greedy ones)
Employees were happy
Customers where happy

How can you complain?

That is the problem. The only duty of a corporation, according to liberals, is to maximize profits.

By paying their employees too much they were failing to do this.

And it has everything to do with Hobby Lobby. Liberals don't want corporations to have ethics. They exist only to further shareholder value.

Corporatists see happy employees as a suboptimal condition. They want employees who are paid just enough to bother showing up to work, and not a penny more. If they are showing up to work and actually happy about it, they are considered overpaid.
That's why corporatists rail against social welfare programs, it means people are less desperate, and they have to pay more for people to want to work.

No other super market offered the benefits that Market Basket had. The employees were not owners of the company. They had 30 years of good easy living, but when it was time to change (entirely within the rights of the management), these workers acted like it's the fuckin Russian revolution. I was not aware that we live a communist society.

Even if I worked one of these grocery jobs - I wouldn't complain. Complaining is for losers, which some of these guys definitely are. Their excuse for the protests are laughable.

The employees were well taken care of in comparison, does that make it right to change it? Ask the employees, obviously their opinion differs from yours.

Sure, it was management's right to change it. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should, looks like they're finding it out the hard way. Value your employees, or don't be surprised when they don't give a shit. You get what you pay for.

Amazing how the business doesn't work without the employees. So why shouldn't the employees share in the success? If it is executives that make a company profitable, thus justifying the excessive compensation, why isn't the company making money hand over fist with one of their biggest costs (employees) out of the way?

Fair enough. Businesses should treat their workers with respect. However, this particular case is going to end with management firing all their protesting workers, and hiring new ones. Their lame excuse of "bring back our old CEO because he's a cool dude" protests will accomplish nothing, only lost time/wages for the workers and inconvenience for their customers.

Most of their customers support them because they have been treated well by these employees. When I lived in MA I shopped there exclusively for groceries due to that and fair pricing.
