Superbowl halftime show

I watched the first part of the game and out out and put in the Terminator which I hadn't watched in a couple years. I then went back into the game to see the last quarter. I don't think I could have made a better choice. Half time for me holds no interest.

My wife wanted to watch it. I was in and out during the halftime show.

Its too bad that Taylor Swift didn't come out and do Shake it Off with Perry instead of Missy Elliot. Anyways, no one is going to beat Prince summoning actual purple rain during his show, but this year and last years half time shows were fairly watchable.

I don't agree that their styles clashed cuz they're both funky as fuck. And I don't really care that they air guitared, cuz it's not like john anthony mother fucking frusciante was there.
I was just making reference to the fact that none of the instruments during the Bruno Mars show (except the drums at the beginning) were on, plugged in, or mic'd. It was all just a bunch of pretending, which is really sad considering RHCP can actually play the instruments and song...

"A lot of the (Super Bowl) bands want to play live, but you just can't do it," veteran Super Bowl music audio supervisor Mike Stahl of Audiotek told us in 2003. Audiotek has handled the sound at every Super Bowl halftime show since the late 1990s.

"The only reason they (Super Bowl bands) won't be live," Stahl elaborated, "is we can't do a line check (of all the amplifiers and monitor speakers). If you were going to do it live, it would take an hour to go through every instrument to make sure all the lines were perfect. So you have a live vocal to a canned track, simply because we don't have enough time -- we have 3 1/2 minutes to get the sound system set up (for the halftime show)."

To further muddy the waters, even the lead vocals during the halftime show are often live-to-track , which means the singer has a pre-recorded vocal track that they can sing over as much, or as little, as they like.

There are "a lot of problems if you are singing live" at the Super Bowl," Jim Steeg, a 24-year Super Bowl production veteran, told U-T San Diego in 2003. "You also have problems with echo in a stadium... And you get a lot of talent that may have played to big crowds before, but nothing like this." (Steeg was the San Diego Chargers' Chief Operating Officer from 2004 to 2010.)

I'm not really a Bruno Mars fan but how can you say his halftime show sucked? That performance was effing incredible.

Well, compared to the actual game his performance was phenomenal!

Seriously tho, BM has real talent and even tho I am not a KP fan in the least, the girl can sing. Unlike most of her peers on the radio. To those idiots saying she cant sing, I guess y'all are tone deaf or just dont know what singing is.

It did not thrill me, honestly. Katy Perry wasn't on my radar. I guess she's OK. It was nothing extraordinary. Grandiose, many costumes and quick changes and changes in makeup, showy. The music? I guess Kravitz can play guitar, but I wasn't blown away. Nothing stood out to me. I watched because, well, you watch what you can stand on the Super Bowl. I wound up fast forwarding through a lot of the commercials in the 2nd half. Only one or two were really interesting to me. The game itself was amazing.

The RHCP weren't even plugged the fuck in. FFS.... It was disgusting.

yawn. I understand that it is a half time show, and not a half time concert.

Prince and MJ were the best that I recall watching.

The uh, Will I Am and girl-that-pees-on-herself group--why can't I recall their names?--was the worst that I have seen.

Did not see it this year: nephew demanded puppy bowl.
