I was prepared to hate it but she actually was pretty good. I was a bit surprised she included 'I Kissed a Girl' in her performance. I half expected a nip slip after that song. :sneaky:

not a big fan of halftime shows in general, but i thought that one was pretty awesome. missy coming out was awesome. and damn she slimmed down a lot since last i saw her.

It was almost like something you'd put in a movie when you're trying to demonstrate how meaningless and insubstantial society could be. It was just a frantic vomiting of light and sound that rushed headlong from one inconsequential song and plastic dancing monkey to the next until it was over in precisely the time allotted to it. 50 years ago people would probably think we did it all sort of tongue in cheek, with an awareness of how ridiculous it all was. They wouldn't understand that all of our pleasure centers are so burned out that anything less than insanity doesn't register anymore.

Half time shows are stupid, it's not the Olympic opening ceremony. bring on a good college marching band or the winner of Drum Corps International You know people who have real talent.

To be fair we have had a lot of bad Superbowl shows recently.

Bruno Mars and the Chilli Peppers last year was jarring and fake.

The Destiny's Child one just proved to us that Beyoncé is a producer creation.

Madonna, The Who, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty all should have done it 10 or 20 years earlier. Combined they showed how much the NFL overreacted to nipplegate.

That leaves the Black Eye Peas between Katy and Prince, and honestly I thought that was tame for a Black Eye Pea show. The 3D demo I had of theirs they put out in 2010 to sell 3D tvs was better.

It is Katy to Prince by default. At least this year we got a new Girl on Fire to go with Cinna:

Same here. Although I am probably too old to be a KP fan (48) I thought it was entertaining. My 20yro son, who is gay, said it was weak. My girlfriend, who is 54, said she thought it was cool. Me, I was wondering why Lenny Kravitz was even there. He is so not relevant.

The reason he was there was obvious: To sing "I kissed a girl" with her so a million conservative parents didn't file a FCC complaint and we end up with "Gaygate."

To be fair though Lenny is huge right now, just not for his music. He was in the first two Hunger Games movies in a pretty major role.
