This is a must-buy for me, it's just a matter of when and for what system. I already have SFIV for the 360, and they say there is some sort of bonus for owners of the original SFIV, but that hasn't been announced yet, and the standard 360 controller is pretty poor for fighters, whereas the PS3 controller is pretty decent. I don't feel like paying $40+ just for a special controller for one game, so I am leaning towards the PS3 version, but...
still sucks there is no CE in america other than the Dojo Edition directly from capcom.
im actually contemplating buying the CE from playasia cause SF4 Japanese was region free.
however we aren't sure about SSF4 yet as far as region free is concerned...
Long post at the Capcom-Unity blog discussing the changes made to Guile, Dhalsim, Balrog, Bison, Vega and Sagat.
would anyone mind pasting the balrog info?
link isn't working from work for some reason.
-- Now then, please tell us about Balrog's adjustments.
Okada:
As Balrog was already a pretty strong character, I think he was pretty high up in the tiers in IV. So we wanted to keep his current playstyle intact, but make his freedom of use a bit better. Probably the biggest adjustment is that we've re-examined his input priority. In IV, his Dash Uppercut and Grand Dash Uppercut sometimes wouldn't come out, or would come out on their own, so we've adjusted this.
-- How about his new ultra, Dirty Bull?
Okada:
Dirty Bull is a throw type move that deals out massive stun. Balrog is a character who can make his opponents clam up and then deal out chip damage, or if he breaks their guard he can deal out big rushing damage. But if he has his opponent guarding, for the most part he can really only do chip damage. So now he has the Dirty Bull, which is another way of breaking his opponent's defenses. As was said before, the move does massive stun - so if you hit it after getting in a good rush attack, there's a high likelihood that your opponent will be stunned. For those looking to dish out big damage, you'll want to stick to Violent Buffalo, but if you want more ways to pressure your opponent, then I think Dirty Bull is a nice choice.

they only nerfed the damage he does as well as his life gauge. fair trade IMO.
my main gripes against him were that if you made 1 mistake you could easily have 25-30% of your health gone from a 2 hit combo (cr.FP, FP. tiger uppercut).
as a balrog player it is already next to impossible to get in on sagat, and once you do, he can knock you clear accross the screen by landing a simple combo or a tiger knee, which did massive damage, only to make you work at getting in on him again.
but scaling the damage of his attacks and making his life gauge smaller will make it not quite as tough to get back in on him, because i will have more chances, and my attacks will do more damage.
Although Lizard Lick was absolutely horrible for quite a few months after SFIV released last year (I placed my order 2 days after release and finally gave up and canceled my order after 30+ days), I got my parts pretty quick when I finally re-ordered 6-7 months later. I've not been in the "scene" in over a year though, so I don't know who is considered reliable these days (modchipman.com isn't even loading for me right now). Whoever you guys use, better order now if you need anything.
